Tile with Rub-Ons

Wow!! I love how this tile turned out. I am planning on making some more. These would make wonderful gifts. I think I want to buy some stands to set them on instead of trying to make a ribbon hanger or using magnetic strips.

I once again used retired rub-ons (Love and Happiness), ribbon (soft sky), and cardstock (soft sky) to make this project. I have a hard time using current things when I need those for classes and workshops.

I love the shimmer paint!! I used the frost white on the butterflies, which made it look like I used metallic paper.

The first thing I did was put the rub-on onto the glazed tile, which is kind of a beige color. I used my new sizzix embosslit Beautiful Wings die (Occasions Mini Catalog) to make the butterflies. I love it already. I used soft sky cardstock then rubbed blue bayou classic ink on them with a stamping sponge. I sprayed them with frost white shimmer paint and allowed them to dry. To place them on the tile I used dimensionals and glue dots. I went around the edges of the tile with a stamping sponge that I put in blue bayou classic ink. The last thing I did was attach the soft sky ribbon. To help hold the ribbon in place I used glue dots underneath it.

You have to try this for yourself. You can use any rub-ons you may have and just use your imagination to fill it all in.

Take a minute to tell me what you think. I love comments!!

Now go-n-stamp!!

Beautiful work Chris, and thanks for the instructions for using rub-ons instead of stamping. I'm going to guy some tiles when I'm in town tomorrow and give these a go.
