Dog Punch Art For Birthday

Carter, my grandson, just turned one. He loves dogs. If anything can make him smile, it is a dog. It was not too hard to decide what kind of card to make for him because of his love of dogs. I have a miniature schnauzer and so does his GG (great grandma). I tried to make this look like one, which it does somewhat, but I know at least one thing I would do differently if I made another one. If you wonder what that is, I would change the ears. I tried eyebrows too, but it made it look too girly. For this dog, I combined a few ideas from other people that have created dogs from punches to make my own.

To create this card I used basic black, basic gray, real red, and naturals white cardstock. I used the Big Shot along with the chevron embossing folder. The stamp set is pretty petites that you can earn from the sale-a-bration catalog. Now for the punches. The petite curly label punch (sale-a-bration catalog), 1 1/4" scallop circle punch (spring catalog), small oval punch, 2 1/2" circle punch, blossom petals punch, large oval punch, and an oval framelits die. For the eyes I used 2 basic black brads from the neutrals set. On the tag I used cherry cobbler baker's twine. Last of all, I went around the edge of the white beard with a stampin' sponge and basic gray ink.
Give it a try. It is fun to create with punches. Leave a comment if you would like or question.

Print Poetry Birthday Card

Happy 52nd Birthday to my husband! He doesn't usually go to my blog so I am not worried about him seeing his card before I give it to him. Today is his birthday, but I still have not filled out his card to give it to him yet. That is going to be done as soon as I am finished with this post.
This card was created with the stamp sets Patterned Party and Word Play. The designer series paper is called Print Poetry and can be purchased from the Spring Catalog. Tools needed are a Big Shot, the Framelits Cannery Set, a stampin' sponge, and the Festive Paper Piercing Pack and paper piercing tool. For cardstock I used midnight muse, gumball green, and very vanilla. I also used natural linen thread. To color in the balloons I used Stampin' Write Markers in midnight muse, gumball green, basic black, and summer starfruit.

I guess I will find out what he thinks of it in just a few minutes. Thank you for taking the time to visit. Have a wonderful day and come back again. Comments are always welcome too.

Happy Whale Baby Shower Card

I needed to come up with a baby shower card really fast. I kept on debating whether or not I should buy or not buy the Happy Whale Clearlits Die in the new Spring Stamin' Up! Catalog. As you can see, I decided to go ahead and buy it. Boy, I am sure glad I did. I have enjoyed seeing how other demonstrators have used it, but when it came to needing a fast card, this was wonderful!! I also purchased the Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper. Talk about a great designer paper for showers!! I wouldn't even mind buying another pack of it because I like it so much. It is great for anything baby if you ask me. It is also for bridal showers too, but I love it for babies!!
This is what I came up with using the clearlits die and designer series paper. It is so simple, but so cute. When the young lady opened this card she looked right at me and said, "You made this card, didn't you?" It is wonderful knowing that someone appreciates the fact that you made it, instead of going out and buying one.

This card is only a 3 x 3. It is a very appropriate card to put in a gift bag or on a package. As for me, I love this size of a card. They are easy to make because you don't have a lot of space to fill up.
As you already know, I used the Happy Whale Clearlits Die (129403 Sring Catalog), Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper (126922 Spring Catalog), the Big Shot (113439 Regular Catalog), the Square Lattice Folder (119976 Regular Catalog), the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370 Regular Catalog), a Rhinestone Basic Jewel (119246 Regular Catalog), Whisper White Cardstock (100730 Regular Catalog), and lastly, Bashful Blue Cardstock (105120 Regular Catalog).
Sorry, it has been a while since I posted. I have been working more hours at work. I get home and don't want to do anything. I still have some cards I had started for a class that need to be finished. When I get those done I will be sure to post them for you all to see.
Thanks for stopping by!!
