Star Ornaments

 Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!! I wanted to share with you the stars I made for my Christmas tree this year. I used the paper from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog called "Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack." The only problem I ran into was I ran out of paper to make them. I didn't use some of the colors that were in the pack because they would not have matched as well. I guess I should have bought two of the paper stacks.

A big reason I chose to make these is because of my grandson. My daughter said he kept knocking the tree over because he was fascinated with the lights. He also was taking the bulbs off of the tree and throwing them. He thought they were a ball. I figured by making these nothing would get broke and he would not get hurt. 

I got the idea to make these from another Stampin' Up! demonstrator. You can get access to the YouTube video by visiting her blog here. She made big ones that were 16" in size, I made ones that are only 6" in size. I found it was easier to use only 5 pieces of paper, instead of 6. That is how mine became stars and not snowflakes.

Just to help you out a bit, she also used a stapler from Stampin' Up! I have not purchased it, yet, but I am planning on getting one when I place my next order. I tried using mini glue dots in place of the staples. I found that the middle sections did not want to stay adhered. The stapler I had was too big. I am not sure if the one you can get from Stampin' Up! is small enough to use for this or not. You will have to try and see, if you have it. I actually think besides the stapler the Tombo glue would work best. It would just take a little longer to dry.

Curvy Keepsake Box Turkeys

Hello everyone! I hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving! I really had a nice time with my family. I just love being able to spend time with them.
 As I promised in my last post. Here are the turkeys I made for my 3 grandsons. They maybe did not enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them for them, but that is the fun in being able to give something that you have made yourself. Yes, that gives me a lot of joy!!

When making these I was inspired by another lady that made and shared hers on Pinterest. If you would like to see her turkey you can click here. It is not the top one that you see first that inspired me, but the one that is  next. It was so elegant and more the look that I wanted to create myself.
As I have shared before, I don't like to case what someone else creates. Due to that reason, mine is similar in some ways, and yet different. I decided to share two of the turkeys up close and then one that has the three of them altogether. Each one is just a little bit different than the other ones, but still very much the same.

Father's Day Card

Maybe, I need to try to get ahead of the game. I am sorry that I post things after it is already over. The main reason I do is because I do not want the person receiving the card to see it on here before they get it. It kind of takes the surprise out of giving it.
This card was made for my husband. He really likes anchors and the nautical theme. The stamp set, The Open Sea, is one of my favorite stamp sets. It just makes very beautiful cards. There are many stamp sets that I love because of their versatility. These are the type of sets to have and keep for a long time.

Mother's Day Flower Pot Card

Since Sunday was Mother's Day, I needed to make a card for my mom! She has always liked flowers. I have seen a lot of the flower pot cards created by many different people and thought I would give it a try. Once again, my inspiration was from Pinterest, which was a video. You can see it here.
After making this one, I do believe, I will make more. They are really fun and turn out beautifully!

Easter Bunny Punch Art Belly Bands

Happy Easter, Christ is Risen! I pray, today, is a wonderful Easter for you celebrate the true meaning of Easter, as well as, spend it with your loved ones. I have not been the happiest camper because we had to cancel our family get together. I decided to come down with some kind of bug early in the morning yesterday and my husband also about 12 hours later. To try to not pass it on, we chose to cancel. Of course, I feel better now, but I am not sure how long you can be carrying the germs. Better safe than sorry.
Today, I am sharing with you a couple of bunny belly bands I created for my grandson's Bibles. They were created using punches and a Big Shot. I have a few pictures I am going to show you. The first pictures I took I had forgotten to put the whiskers on the bunnies. I remembered when I looked at the picture where I got my inspiration from to make these, Pinterest, of course, found here.

  The picture above was from before I glued them onto the belly band.

The picture above is when I still had not remembered to add the whiskers. I do believe it made quite a bit of difference.

Above, is the final result. What I think really made these turn out so well, was adding the sponging around the edges of the Baked Brown Sugar Cardstock. It gives it depth. I love using the sponge!

Christmas Frestive Flurry Gifts

I hope everyone had a very Merry CHRISTmas! New Years is just around the corner. Before the New Year arrives, I wanted to share with you some little gifts I made up for my three office managers. They are all alike, but different in colors. These are fun and easy to create, as long as you have the tools. I will share with you what you need.

Festive Flurry Framelits Easel Card

It has been a little while since I have posted. Sometimes the busyness of life gets in the way. I hope everyone had a very nice Thanksgiving. I really enjoyed my family and being able to get to spend some time with all of them.

I don't know about you, but I am ready to get things ready for Christmas. This easel card can be the kick-off for it. I had never made an easel card. I watched how to make one on YouTube and off to work I went. 

This card has many layers. Due to that reason, it is heavy. To help give some support for the snowflake to stand up better, I attached a toothpick underneath. It also keeps it in place that way.

When I purchased the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies, I did not purchase the stamp set that went along with it. I just used designer series paper form the Winter Frost paper stack and the Winter Frost Specialty DSP.

Hello again. I don't know about you, but this has been a very busy week for me. My daughter and son-in-law just moved back home from living in Wyoming for almost 6 years. It is very nice being able to be a part of their lives and my grandson's life (in the flesh), again.
On to the cards I have posted. These were the other 2 Father's Day cards I had made for this year.The first card was made using the stamp set "Zoo Review." The second card was made with "The Open Sea." The Open Sea is definitely one of my top favorite stamp sets. It is also one I would say if you are an avid stamper, you need to own it. Father's Day Card

Yesterday was Father's Day. I have a few special fathers in my life. None of them are my own father though because he passed away 5 years ago. I would have made him a card for sure if he was still with us. I plan on seeing him again though. That is because of the hope I have in Jesus. Back to the other fathers in my life. One is my husband and the other two are my son-in-laws. I love them all.
The first card I am sharing with you was for my oldest daughter's husband, Bryan! Together they have a 3 year old little boy. Bryan is a wonderful father to Blake. I am very grateful for that.

Postage Due Mother's Day Card

To all of you Mom's, I pray you had a wonderful Mother's Day, yesterday. I was able to visit with my mom and one of my daughters. Next year my other daughter will probably be able to visit too. This all depends on where she and her husband live. I am praying it won't be very far away, but I do not know.
  I thought I would share with you one of the three cards I made for Mother's Day. The card I am sharing with you, today, is the only one that says "Mother's Day" on it. The other two could be used for other occasions, which is why I am holding off on them. When creating this card at first I did not add any glitter to it. I took pictures of it without, but then I thought maybe I should have added glitter.

Easter Blessings Chalkboard Technique

Happy Easter!! Christ is risen from the dead. Have a great day celebrating what Easter is and spending time with your families.
 Every once in a while I will come across a new technique or card that I really want to try. The chalkboard technique is one of them. I really like how it looks. There are many samples of how to do this technique on the internet. I looked at a few videos of how it was done, but then decided to make one with my own ideas in mind.
 Not all chalk is white. Due to this reason, I used colored watercolor pencils along with the white. Keep in mind though that you do not use water with the watercolor pencils for this technique. I also knew I wanted to somehow add the cross to make it look like it was part of the Easter Blessings saying. I am happy with the results of how that turned out. Probably the biggest thing that I wasn't quite as happy with is the fact that the colors come out dark. The reason is because of the black cardstock. All in all I love it. I would definitely do it again too. You can use other cardstock besides black to do this technique. Remember, not all chalkboards are black.

To make this card you will need daffodil delight and basic black cardstock. A big shot, the framed tulips and lacy brocade embossing folders. Watercolor pencils and white craft ink. White embossing powder and a heat gun. A stampin' sponge. An elegant butterfly and bitty butterfly punch. Lastly, a rhinestone basic jewel.

Easter Blessings Center Step Card

Easter is coming! Due to this reason, I chose the stamp Easter Blessings from the current spring mini catalog. I must say this is my favorite of the three step cards. If you have never tried making any of the step cards, you should. They are fun to do. You can just let your imagination go with these types of cards.

I decided to share two different angles of this card so you could see the dimension of it. Looking straight on you can not see it. The side view tells the truth.

These are the stampin' up! items I used to create this card. The Easter Blessings stamp and Fabulous Florets set. Calypso coral, chocolate chip, and naturals ivory cardstock. A calypso coral marker and blender pen. The big shot and embossing folder lacy brocade. The elegant butterfly and the bitty butterfly punches. A stampin' distress tool. Some brads from the basics glimmer set. Oh! I almost forgot, a stampin' sponge.

Holiday Stocking Gift Card Holders

Well, I pray all of you had a wonderful Christmas. I had a nice time with mine. I keep saying next year will be better because my daughter and her family will be moved back home. It will be nice having them closer to home again. Wyoming is quite a ways away.

 I realize Christmas is over, but I still wanted to share with you some gift card holders I made using the Holiday Stocking Bigz L die. These can be used for little things that can then be hung on your Christmas tree or attach them to a gift. I have also used this die for a baby shower banner when my grandson was about to be born.

I think you know who these were made for by the tags I have on them. The designer series paper is from the Holiday Catalog, which is only good until January 2, and it is called Festival of Prints. I used a Big Shot, the Holiday Stocking Bigz L die, the Houndstooth, Vintage Wallpaper, and Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folders. The stamp set I made the sentiments from is called Family Reunion. For the rosettes I used my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I used the Snow Flurry Bigz Die and the Ornament Punch! I also used Champagne Mist and Frost White Shimmer paint to add some sparkle.

Snow Flurry Christmas Card

Christmas is almost here! Are you ready? I am not! I have not done any decorating at all in this house of mine, yet. Do I need to? Yes, I probably do. I think I am going to try and work on that today. This is my Christmas card made using the Snow Flurry Bigz Die. In order to use it you need a Big Shot or something similar to it. This is my favorite out of the Christmas cards I made, although, the Come to Bethlehem is right there too, at least, in my opinion.

This card was made using elegant eggplant, night of navy, wisteria wonder, brushed silver, and whisper white cardstock. I used the snow flurry bigz die, the petals a plenty embossing folder, a big shot, and the scallop trim border punch. For ribbon I chose 5/8 inch organza ribbon. Lastly, I used rhinestone basic jewels.

With all of the hustle and bustle of Christmas going on, try to take the time to stamp!!

Lovely as a Tree Christmas Card

Welcome everyone! If you do not own this stamp set (Lovely as a Tree), you should! It is one of Stampin' Ups! most versatile set. They have carried this one for quite some time now. I love scenery, which that probably makes me love this set too.
Making this card was so easy and yet, it looks harder than it is. You need to try and make one yourself if you do have this set. If not, you can order one very easily by going to my order button on the side.

For cardstock I used chocolate chip, garden green, and whisper white. The images were stamped with garden green and sahara sand classic ink. I used the Big Shot along with the snow flurry bigz die for the snowflake. To make the glittery snow I used frost white shimmer paint. I used a paint brush to apply it to the cardstock. I did not want to use my blender pens because it would have ruined them. I maybe could have used an aqua pen though. I would not have added water to it. The sentiment Merry Christmas was from the stamp set "teeny tiny wishes." Lastly, is the embellishments. I used natural linen thread, early espresso bakers twine, and one large pearl basic jewel.

Take it up a Notch Snow Swirled

As I promised in my last post to "Take it up a Notch," here it is. I don't always follow through with what I say, which I know it is wrong for me to do. I made sure I did what I said this time. I can honestly say that I now like this card. I hope that you do to.

I added the Big Flurry snowflake using my Big Shot and the Big Flurry Snowflake Bigz Die. I also restamped the joy on shimmery white and then cut it out into an oval. I made an oval mat for underneath it. Lastly, I added more bling with rhinestone jewels and a designer vintage faceted button.

Simple Snow Swirled

I hope you have all recovered from your Thanksgiving festivities. My family had a very nice get together, but I am looking forward to next year when my daughter and her family will be moving back. They have been gone for almost 6 years. Today, I am sharing with you a simple card made with the stamp set "Snow Swirled." This is a very simple card to create. Once again, this is not one of my favorite cards. Even with the rhinestone jewels it did not impress me. You will have to tell me what you think.

In case you are wondering, I used the sentiment from the retired stamp set "The Sounding Joy." It could be easily replaced with another. I have seen a lot of people use the "Believe" sentiment on cards using snowflakes. I like it, but I didn't have that one. I wonder if I had layered the "Joy," instead, making it one layer, I would have liked it better. The only other thing you really need to know about this card is the colors I used. They are marina mist, night of navy, and shimmery white!
Hmmmm......I was thinking maybe I should take this card and put the "Joy" on a layer and work with it until I like it. Then I will repost it to see if you like it better too. I think I am going to do that. Just for fun!!

Come to Bethlehem Christmas

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving my blogging visitors and followers. I appreciate the fact that you visit my blog. With Christmas coming very soon, I wanted to share with you over the next week or two some Christmas cards. The first one I am sharing is the reason why we even celebrate Christmas. There would be no Christmas if it had not been for Jesus being sent here by His Father to save whoever chooses Him. For this card I chose "Come to Bethlehem" as the stamp set.

I really love the deeper shade of red for Christmas, myself. For this reason, I chose cherry cobbler, along with soft suede, and naturals ivory card stock. For the texture you need a Big Shot and the square lattice textured impressions embossing folder. I went around the edges with soft suede and a stampin' sponge. The ribbon is 1/2" seam binding in cherry cobbler. Lastly, I used the itty bitty banners framelits die stamped with the sentiment.

Zoo Review Father's Day Card

Well, Father's Day has come and gone. I am going to share with you a very fast card I made for my husband for Father's Day. Fortunately, he is not hard to please.

I used all Stampin' Up! products to design this card. The designer series paper is now retired. It was from the mocha morning specialty designer series paper. The cardstock colors used were crumb cake, basic black, and very vanilla. Zoo review is the stamp set the images are from. The sentiment is from teeny tiny wishes, which is a great stamp set to own. I used the 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circle punch and the dotted scallop ribbon punch. For embellishments I used two basic black brads from the neutrals set.
I hope you had a great time spending Father's Day with a Father you love greatly.

Mother's Day Cards

I know Mother's Day is over, but I wanted to post 2 cards I had created for the occasion. One was for my daughter that celebrated her first Mother's Day and the other one was for my mom.

The first card was made using melon mambo, tangerine tango, wild wasabi, and whisper white cardstock. I used the fabulous florets, family reunion, and tiny tags stamp sets. To color the flowers I used melon mambo and tangerine tango watercolor crayons and a blender pen. For tools I used my Big Shot, the textured impressions designer frame embossing folder, and the lace ribbon border punch. My daughter always like orange. This is why I chose these colors for this card.

This card I made for my mom. I used marina mist and whisper white cardstock. Field flowers, En Francais,  and family reunion stamp sets. For classic ink I used Marina mist, wild wasabi, and crumb cake. For tools I used the 1 3/4"  and the 2 3/8" scallop circle punches. For accessories I used the basic rhinestone jewels.
