Small Gifts to Share Class

Sorry it has taken me a while to get a new post on here. I am going to have to really work on getting things done sooner. I can't believe how fast a week goes by.

Here are the samples I came up with for my next class that I am having at the end of this month. I used the new Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper to make these little gifts. I had been wanting Stampin' Up! to come up with glittery paper for a while. I am so happy that they did. For cardstock I used the coordinating colors that went with the DSP, which are real red, pretty in pink, chocolate chip, and very vanilla.

As you can see I used a test tube and added nerds, the sweet treat cup to make a 3 x 3 card, a junior legal pad cut in half and covered, and lastly a pack of tic tacs covered. My favorite is the 3 x 3 card and then the tic tacs.

Voila' Recipe Box

Hello, to all of my blogging friends. If it wasn't for all of you taking the time to look at my creations, I might as well just throw in the towel now. You are the reason why I take the time to take pictures and post. Thank you, everyone, for looking at my blog, for all of the wonderful comments, and telling others to visit my blog.

My baby is going to be 19 on the 3rd. I told her I would make her a recipe box. I had made one before and she loved it. This one though has some of what she wanted in it. She wanted polka dots (loves them) and likes the night of navy and rose red colors together. You may be asking if this is her kitchen colors. The answer to that is, "No." She wanted me to use what I had.

I wanted to get a few different views for you to see what the box looks like. The first is the most fun to create. I love the little chef. He is one of my favorite stamps. I have him adhered with dimensionals. His buttons are black brads. As for what he is holding, I used crystal effects to try to make it look like steel. I should have used the brushed silver paper, but I did not think about it until I was done.

This is a view of what the divider cards look like inside of the box. I also have recipe cards in between them. You just can't see them. Making the dividers is very easy. The most tedious part is making the recipe cards. I didn't make a bunch of them because they do take a lot of time. I ended up using the stamp-a-majig because the recipe is just a little bit crooked on the wood. That is why it took longer. I will probably sometime in the future end up having to make more of them up. I am sure my daughter will tell me when she needs them.

This is the last view I wanted to take for you all to see. These make such wonderful gifts to give. They are great for weddings, birthdays, and a house warming gift.

Just so you know I ended up using retired DSP on part of this. I normally prefer to use what is current, but I knew this was the one my daughter would like. As always, all of the supplies are SU!, except for the recipe box. It was purchased from a nearby craft store.

Altered Tin

I realize it is the 4th of July and this is not something for that occasion, but I have a birthday party to go to for my niece. She is turning "sweet 16" tomorrow, actually. I do hope you all have a wonderful 4th. Be safe and enjoy your families and friends.

Her gift is very simple, money. I had bought quite a few of these tins, which are really for gift cards, at Micheal's for really cheap a while back. I remembered I had them and decided to alter one to put her gift in. She may have another use for it once she takes her gift out.

Some of you may already know that I used mostly retired stuff on this. The DSP is parisian summer (retired), so saffron, and bravo burgundy CS; Ribbon: so saffron from the sale-a-bration (retired) catalog; Stamp pad: bravo burgundy; Stamp set: sincere salutations; Punches: snow blossom (retired), scallop circle, and scallop oval.

Tell me what you think. I always love getting comments. I know I could have dressed this up even more, but sometimes less is best.

Christmas Make and Take Class

Last night I had a class making some inexpensive Christmas gifts. Four ladies came to this class. It is so funny because we made a gift using a chocolate candy bar and women love their chocolate. I think they wanted to eat it more than use it for making into a gift. I have to say I do not share in most women's love of chocolate. I could take it or leave it. When I do have it, I prefer milk chocolate or white chocolate. The other types I do not like. This is a picture of the 4 things we made.
We were supposed to make a candle too, but it got too late to make it. I will have to show them how to do it another time. I love the DSP Holiday Treasures. It took me quite a while to come up with my gifts for this class, but I really liked the end results. My ornament is a little different than everyone else's I have seen. That is a goal of mine. I want to come up with my own ideas or at least change something I have seen and make it mine. I guess if I was in a real pinch I would case, otherwise I prefer not to. I hope this can help you have some ideas of things to make to give. This is the season for giving, of which, God gave us the best gift anyone could give, His only son.

Prayer Journal

Our Real Life Group women had a ladie's night out. We made prayer journals using composition books. I believe everyone had a very fun time and enjoyed playing. That was the whole purpose of doing this.

Above is a picture of the women who came for Ladie's Night Out and their prayer journals. I think they all did an excellent job on them. It is neat seeing how differently everyone made their own.

Paint Pail

I have a few of these paint cans. I have been wanting to alter them for a while. My nephew seems to like my papercrafts. I was going to make him a backpack, but thought he might like this better.

I finally got my recipe box made. I love how it turned out. My daughter even really likes it, which that is a real compliment.
