Hello everyone! It is time to break out your die cutting machines. Stampin' Up! has the Big Shot. I love it! It takes all kinds of dies. Of course, there are exclusive dies made for Stampin' Up! only. You are going to get to see some of these in my card today. As you can see below this is the Diva Coffee Break Designs challenge for the week. I used quite a few different ones for my card. We always try to encourage you to do this challenge with us. If you do go to the DCBD blog and sign up using the Mr. Linky widget. We would love to see what you can create also.
Here is what I came up with for this challenge. I kept debating on putting a sentiment on it. I decided not to. I still may when I go to give it to someone. I hope you will take the time to tell me what you think of it. Yes, there is a lot of detail, but remember the Big Shot cut everything out. I just had to arrange and layer it however I wanted to.

Ingredients for this card. Stamp set: none; Cardstock: confetti white, glorious green, close to cocoa, rich razzleberry, melon mambo, crushed curry, and DSP lovely flowers (hostess level 3);

Tools: top note die, scribbles swirls sizzlit, birds and blooms sizzlits, eyelet edge punch, stamping sponge, and sanding block; Accessories: chocolate chip taffeta ribbon, filigree brad, and silver brads; Ink pad: soft suede

DCBD #133

Hello, everyone! I hope your week has been going well. It is time again for this week's DCBD challenge. It is a fun one and pretty simple too. You can keep it very basic or really step it up a lot. It probably depends on how much time you want to spend on it.

I really love how this card turned out. I wasn't so sure I was going to like it when I first started working on it. I just never know what it is going to look like until I am all done. I may have somewhat of an idea, but not the whole. Please comment and tell me what you think.

Baby Card Class

I had told you Thursday that I would post the last baby card when I finished it up. I also said I would have it done on Friday. Well, I didn't get it done on Friday like I had said. Sorry about that.

It is now Saturday and I finally finished this last card for my class. I hope you all like it. You can always leave me a comment letting me know what you think. In case you are wondering about the colors, I got them from a sample in the Fall/Winter 2007 Stampin' Up! catalog. Who would have thought red would go with the other colors, but once again they do.

Baby Card Class

I worked all afternoon making these three cards for my next card class. I still have one more to make. I will try to get it done probably tomorrow sometime. I will post it also when I am finished with it.

As you can tell this is going to be a Baby card class. I know we all get invited to baby showers at some point or other. It is nice to have a card already made for the occasion. When designing them I wanted to make a boy, girl, and the other 2 for either or. You can tell me if the card above could be for a boy or a girl or do you think it is more for a boy also?

I have never done the challenges that StampinUpLNStamper's have had. I have been wanting to enter for quite some time now. Well, I am going to enter 1 or maybe 2 of these in it. This weeks challenge is to make a children's card. I did double check to see if a baby card qualifies. I was told that it does. Now I need to decide which one to enter. Hhhmmm..........................

Back to the class again. This is going to be the same as the one's I have had in the past. Everyone that takes this class will make 8 cards all together (2 each of the 4 designs).

DCBD #132

Another week has went by and it is Diva Coffee Break Designs sketch challenge time again. I love the colors in this sketch. I would love to have made a card using flowers, but there is a special holiday this Sunday. I decided I wanted to make the card for my husband. You know when your business is making cards and such you better make a card. It doesn't look good for your business if you don't. At least I don't think so.
This is what I came up with for the card. You will have to tell me what you think. Some of you may be saying it looks childish. I have to agree with you, if you are thinking that. My husband, you see, loves airplanes. I wanted to make an airplane for him. I decided to use my punches to come up with it. I think it turned out really cute. When it was finished I thought the bear from the Cute and Cuddly set would be so cute to use as the pilot. Even though it looks childish, I know that my husband will love it. That is all that matters. I will have to remember and sometime make one similar for a baby card though.

I hope that you have been inspired by seeing this card to want to make a card yourself. Like I said the color sketch is great this week. This weeks card sketch was lots of fun. I am going to be helping a friend/customer make wedding invitations for her daughter's wedding. Also my daughter has been talking about colors she is kind of interested in for her wedding. Because of this, I thought this sketch was a great choice for a test wedding invitation. You can tell me what you think by clicking on the comments button at the bottom of this post. My biggest disappointment on this card is how the writing came out. The ink got a little bit too blotchy on the word "place". I didn't want to start over and decided to go ahead and keep it like it is. I thought about re stamping it on mellow moss card stock and covering it up, but I didn't want more of that color. I love the card except for that little mistake.

Card stock: mellow moss, basic black, basic gray, shimmery white, basic gray DSP (hostess pack)

Ink: StazOn black

Marker: mellow moss and basic black

Stamp sets: To Have and To Hold and Hugs and Wishes (both are retiring July 1st)

Tools: eyelet border punch, texturz plate flourish (Big Shot), heart to heart punch

Accessories: a build-a-brad, a filigree designer brad, and 5/8" white organza ribbon

DCBD #130

Here we go once again, everyone. Are you all ready to go get out your stamps, ink, and most importantly your Big Shot? We really want to see more people join us in doing these challenges. Lately it doesn't seem like very many of you have been participating. The main reason for this design team is to inspire you to do this with us, not to look at what we have done. Yes, I realize your seeing what we have done gives you ideas, but if you don't play along what good are our ideas. By the way, if for some reason you don't have a Big Shot, but you do have a cuttlebug or other sizzix machine it counts too. I was showing my husband my blog the other day. I told him I had the most comments on my manly card. His suggestion was for me to make them more often. Well, I did try to do that this week, but I think this is more for the young men in our lives. I had fun using watercolor crayons and blender pens. My sky, well, let's just say I need to work on that more. It is ok, but it could be better. Since this was the Big Shot challenge, I used the top note die and the swirls scribbles sizzlet. Other tools I used were the scallop oval punch, the large oval punch, a stamping sponge, and the paper piercer. I used the stamp sets Boatloads of Love and Oval All. The card stock is real red, so saffron, brocade blue, bashful blue, DSP brocade blue and basic gray (hostess pack), and watercolor paper. The ink pads were real red and StazOn black. I also used the 5/8" grosgrain real red ribbon. For the life preservers I used the white gel pen.
