More Baby Shower Items

Here are pictures of things I made for the baby shower. I am putting these on really fast because I have to leave for work real soon. I used the same colors for everything, bashful blue, so saffron, certainly celery, and whisper white.

I used the retired Stampin' Up! designer paper "delicate dots." I made lots of pinwheels and matchbox die favors. I wanted to add more to the matchbox favors, but I ran out of time.

The wishes for Carter turned out to be a really cute idea. I am now going to make a book out of them. I will post it when I get it done. It is really neat to read what people put for answers. Also, I created them using the MDS (My Digital Studio) program.

I hope you enjoy looking at these and maybe give you some ideas for a shower you may have sometime in the future.

Sorry if I posted too many pictures. I just wanted you to get a good idea of what all there was. I had made 24 pinwheels. Eight of them were bigger and 16 of them were a little smaller.

When all was said and done, the shower was a success. We had a good time and they went home with tons of stuff. Now she has to go through everything and have it prepared for when little Carter comes. Woohoo! Fun, fun, a new baby to love and hold!

Stocking Banner

Finally! I finally have something to share with all of you. I am working on some things for my daughter's baby shower that is coming up at the end of this month. This is one of the things I was finally able to get done for it. I am very sorry if the first picture you see is not the best. I tried 3 different times taking pictures in different areas with different lighting. It is hard really getting good pictures. To be honest, the close up pictures of much better.

I used the holiday stocking die from the Holiday mini catalog to create this banner. To create the letters I used the MDS program. I wanted them to be a little bigger and in the 3 different colors.

For the pinwheels I found a template on the internet and from that figured out the size I needed to cut my paper and how to fold it to make them. I ended up using retired DSP to make them. It is the same DSP that I used for the baby shower invitations. To give some texture to the main part of the stocking I used the textured impressions embossing folder "Perfect Polka Dots."

The cardstock colors used to make these is bashful blue, certainly celery, so saffron, and whisper white. I did not end up rubberstamping at all on these. The only place ink was used was around the edge of the whisper white circles, which have the letters on them. Lastly, I used white and brocade blue 5/8" grosgrain ribbon (both are retired) to hand each stocking on with a little clothespin. The clothespins I used I bought at a craft store a long time ago. Stampin' Up! sells them now though. By the way, I am sure you have figured out that his name is going to be Carter. We can't wait to welcome him into this world!

Hello bloggers! I wanted to let you know that I have not forgotten about you. There has been a lot going on over here in my home. For Christmas, my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson were here visiting. They live in Wyoming. I wanted to spend as much time as I could with them. I am also preparing for a baby shower for my other daughter. I have been working on some baby shower favors. They still are not completely finished yet. I will be posting pictures of them very soon. I will also be making some "Thank you" cards. I am having a class at the end of the month. Please don't give up on me. I will add new things as I get them finished. I just wanted to let you know why I haven't posted anything lately. I am sorry! I will try to get things going again with this week. Thank you for understanding.

Christmas Projects

I pray that all of you had a wonderful Christmas. My husband and I had our family here for dinner. We enjoyed our time together.
I have added a couple of pictures of some things I made. As you will see they are not Stampin' Up! only this time. I crocheted covers for the candy canes added ribbon and a little tag. The tag was made using the jewelry tag punch and the saying is from the stamp set "Tiny Tags." I could have used Stampin' Up! ribbon, but I chose not too, it is just from a craft store.

The Christmas ornament below was made using retired Stampin' Up! rub-ons, silver elastic cord, and clear trim tinsel. Once again, the only thing that is current Stampin' Up! is the jewelry punch tag and the saying is from the stamp set "Tiny Tags."

The three candy canes you see I ended up giving to the head cashiers where I work. I have not done anything with the ornament as of yet. I may keep it for myself or give it to one of my daughters.

Snowflake Holiday Stocking

Christmas is coming!! We are not doing much this year for Christmas, but I did buy this die from Stampin' Up! for my Big Shot. This is the first stocking I have made and I love it. I did spend a lot of time making it and thinking about how I wanted it to look. I made this one for my grandson. His mom and dad can keep it as an ornament if they want to.

I wanted to give you some different views, once again, so you can see the dimension. I do not know if you can tell from the pictures or not, but the middle bashful blue area and the bashful blue scallop are sprayed with the frost white shimmer paint. I also used brushed silver and night of navy cardstock.

I used everything current Stampin' Up! product, except for the button, which it is retired because it is bashful blue and the current color is marina mist. Sorry about that.

Some of the other things I used to create this stocking are the Big Shot, Holiday Stocking Bigz L Die, the Snow Burst textured impressions embossing folder, the snowflake punch, the stocking builder punch, the stamp set "stitched stockings," the simply scored scoring tool, the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch, and the scallop trim border punch. Putting on the mini jingle bells also gave it a little more dimension.
I had a ton of fun making this for my grandson. I am still not sure of what I am going to put in it, but I will figure out something.

Baby Shower Invitations

Something very exciting is coming up soon. My youngest daughter is going to be having a baby boy! At least that is what we have been told. We do pray they are correct. Anyhow, I have attached 2 pictures of the cards. The first one you see is an example. My daughter wanted me to make up a couple of different cards to choose from. Well, I did not attach the other one I had made, but this is the one she chose.

Once she chose her card, I told her she could go with a different color band and scallop if she wanted. Well, guess what? She wanted to go with different colors. The card below is what they all look like. I have already made up 45 of them. I may have to make a few more still, but maybe not.
I used bashful blue, so saffron, whisper white, and certainly celery cardstock, along with retired delicate dots designer series paper. I knew I had enough of the designer paper to use to make these invitations. The stamp set is called "Bear Hugs." I created the writing using the MDS program, which stands for "My Digital Studio." I still need to play with it some more to get used to how it works.
Believe it or not, it did not take that much time to create a bunch of these invites. They were fun to make and now it is almost time to be sending them out.

Always Thankful Card 4

You may be saying to yourself, "Does this lady know that it is almost Christmas?" The answer to your question is, "Yes!" I forgot to put this card on my blog. I am glad that I did because I have been working on baby shower invitations. I have not worked on any other cards lately because of it. I will be posting a picture of what they look like when I have them done. Well, maybe not all of them done because I may be making close to 50 of them. After I get those done I will be working on the favors for the shower. I will post other projects I make during this process because I would like to do a few things for Christmas too!

Back to the card above. I used the stamp set Always Thankful with spice cake designer series paper, soft suede, river rock, and pear pizzazz cardstock. For tools I used the Big Shot, the vintage wallpaper textured impressions embossing folder, and the scallop trim corner punch. For accessories I used 1/4 inch early espresso grosgrain ribbon and a pumpkin pie glimmer brad out of the brights brads.

Even though Christmas is coming up very soon, I wanted to share a card I had made for my daughter's fiance. This card was made in the middle of October, but I saved it in case I needed something to post because I have not worked on anything new. I have worked on something new, although, I am not ready to post it quite yet.

This card was made using well worn designer series paper, cajun craze, very vanilla, so saffron, not quite navy, and soft suede cardstock. For tools I used the Big Shot, spider web and square lattice textured impressions embossing folder, scallop edge border and the cupcake builder punches. For the stamp sentiment I used the Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp set. The accessories I used was 5/8" very vanilla grosgrain ribbon (retired) and a mini library clip.

Punch Dog Birthday

Thanksgiving was yesterday and I pray all of you are doing well. Since I have not posted in a little while I figured I better get something new on here. I had actually made this card in October for my nephew's birthday. I just wanted something different. It doesn't always have to be cake and presents on the card. Since this was a fall birthday I chose fall colors. As for the punch dog, he was not my idea. I got this idea from a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Michelle Suit. I really thought it was cute. If you click here you can go to her blog and see how she made it. She has a very easy to follow tutorial.

I do not need to tell you the items I used to make the puppy because it is in the video tutorial. For the tree I used the little leaves sizzlits die in my Big Shot. I just cut out the trunk of the tree free hand. I just layered the grass on top of each other to give some dimension to it. As for the colors I used well worn designer series paper, always artichoke, basic gray, basic black, cajun craze, early espresso, more mustard, and confetti white cardstock. I used the Happiest Birthday Wishes hostess stamp set.

If you have never tried doing punch art, you should give it a try. It is a lot of fun and very easy to do.

The Sounding Joy Christmas Card 4

Woohoo! I finally got the 4th card finished. I told you I had it almost done. It was too plain for my liking. Adding the doily punch, ribbon, and bell is just what it needed. I also made little marks around the bottom right hand saying. I am much happier with the results now. Whew!

I did not use any designer series paper on this card. The other 3 I made have it. It is nice just using plain cardstock at times. Of course, I used The Sounding Joy stamp set. I really hope you enjoy these cards. Stamping is a lot of fun!

Have any of you started your Christmas shopping this year? I haven't. I would like to make things more than buy. My problem is I have all of these ideas, I just need to put my hands to work and make them. I tend to come home from work and not want to do anything because of being tired and just wanting to sit down and relax. That is not a good thing to do if I am going to get anything accomplished.

The Sounding Joy Christmas Card 3

Just as I had said in the last post to be watching for the other cards to be made here is one of them. This is the third one for The Sounding Joy Christmas Card Class. I have started working on the 4th card, but I am still not completely finished with it. Sometimes I walk away from it for a while and then go back. Don't ask me why, but it helps me be able to figure out something else to do with it. I try to work with a card until I can say I am happy with it.

I have to say that so far this is my favorite of the cards. If you have a favorite, you can tell me by posting a comment.

As before, this card was made using The Sounding Joy stamp set. I chose this stamp set because it definitely has the true meaning of Christmas.

I really am finding I like to show a couple views of a card instead of just one. I am sure it helps give you a better idea of what it truly looks like. The lighting is never really quite right. I guess I could try to make a light box. It isn't something I really wanted to do though. I can see why people use them though. It does help make the cards look better.

The Sounding Joy Christmas Card 2

I was finally able to work on another card for my up and coming class. This card has quite a bit of detail, but well worth it. I love being able to make the rosettes using a new tool from Stampin' Up! that is in the Holiday Mini. My customers are going to get a chance to try it out. It should be lots of fun.

I used the same designer paper and stamp set in this card as what I had used to make the first card. I still need to get 2 more cards made for this class. Please keep watching throughout this week. I will be posting them when I get them done.

Can you believe Thanksgiving is going to be next week? It is coming up so quickly. I pray you all enjoy being able to get together with your families and being thankful for all of the things the Lord has given to you.

The Sounding Joy Christmas Card 1

Here is the first of 4 cards that will be made in my upcoming Christmas card class. I will post the other 3 when I get them finished. This is made very similar to the one that is in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog. I had a customer ask if the cards would be like the one in the mini. I told her one of them could be made similar, but not exactly the same because I did not have all of the same products they used. It still has the same design though.

I once again wanted to give you 2 different views of the card. The one above lets you see more of the dimension, as well as, the sparkle!

I am disappointed in the lighting of these cards. I am sorry they did not turn out as good as they could have. If I change the lighting very much they either get too bright or distort the color of the cardstock. In case you are wondering, I used cherry cobbler, chocolate chip, and very vanilla.

Butterfly Birthday

Hello once again! I have been saving this card to post. It was made for my youngest daughter on her 21st birthday. I created it after another card I had made before. It was one of my favorites. You can see it here.

For this card real red cardstock, basic black cardstock, and first edition specialty designer series paper were used. The stamp set used was happiest birthday wishes. The tools used were the big shot, beautiful butterflies bigz die, beautiful wings embosslit die, elegant lines and vintage wallpaper embossing folders, and the scallop trim border punch. For accessories rhinestone jewels and a filigree designer brad were used.

Always Thankful Card Class

Hello. I have some new cards to share with you. These will be made in my Always Thankful Card Class. I still have one more to get finished. I have it started, but have not had much time to work on it because of working at my other job.

These cards are all made with the Always Thankful stamp set, which can be found in the Holiday Mini Catalog here. I also used Spice Cake Designer Series Paper. It too is in the Holiday Mini Catalog.
In case you are wondering..........I did not color in the images because I knew it would take a while for my customers to get their cards made. If I colored in the images, they would be at my house even longer. I did not want to do that to them. They can color them on their own time.

The only thing I did to the last card that you see to give it more detail than just using the more mustard classic ink I used a soft suede stampin' write marker to outline and add some little lines for detail.
I am sure these would look so much better if they were colored in though. If I have some time I may do that and repost them if I can.

Thank you for coming to my blog and taking a look. Cardmaking is very easy with rubberstamping. My saying is this: If you can color, you can stamp! Why do I say that? Rubberstamping is just stamping an image on paper and coloring it in. When you color you already have the image you just color it in. Not much different.

Autumn Spice Birthday

I don't know about you, but I have a lot of designer series paper that is now retired. I need to figure out what to do with it. I know I can make things, which that is what I did with the card you see below here. I may give some away to my customers as gifts. I have to think on it.

The card I made is using Autumn Spice DSP, which is now retired. The cardstock colors used were more mustard, cajun craze, and very vanilla. I finally used the blossom bouquet triple layer punch, along with the 1 3/4" inch scallop circle punch. Of course, I had to use my Big Shot! That is how I got the layered paper in the background along with the vintage wallpaper embossing folder. The stamp set I used was the Happiest Birthday Wishes hostess set. For accessories I added very vanilla taffeta ribbon and an old olive brad.

It is nice being able to bring out old paper once in a while. A lot of the retired papers are beautiful and you wish they would keep them longer sometimes. I know things are always changing though and Stampin' Up! really tries to keep up with the newest trends in colors. They have too.

Lovely As A Tree Fall Anniversary Card

I love fall because of all the changing colors on the trees. Making fall cards can be so much fun, too! My husband and I celebrated our 27th anniversary yesterday. This is the card that I made for him.
I have used this stamp set quite a bit, especially because it is a great set to make manly cards. He loves this time of year too, just like I do. When I first started to make this card I did not like the colors, but I kept working with it and changed the colors until I was very pleased with the outcome.

These are the Stampin' Up! items I used to create this card. Stamp set: lovely as a tree; Card stock: so saffron, not quite navy, cajun craze, very vanilla, and well worn designer series paper; Tools: big shot, square lattice embossing folder, watercolor pencils, blender pens, modern label punch, word window punch, and the 2 1/2 inch circle punch; Accessories: 1/4 inch early espresso grosgrain ribbon and neutrals early espresso brads.

Pennant Parade Girl Card

Well Worn Birthday Card

If you are looking for a really nice birthday stamp set, I have a suggestion. Host a party with me and earn the stamp set "Happiest Birthday Wishes" for free with a $150.00 show. It is a hostess stamp set, but well worth having a party for.
The card I made is for a male or female, but I created it for a male. It is so easy to make cards for the female side, but takes more of an effort for the male side. We need cards for both though.

I used well worn designer series paper, not quite navy, early espresso, cajun craze, and very vanilla card stock to create this card. Stamp sets used were "Happiest Birthday Wishes" and "I Dig You." The tools used to create this card were the large, extra large tag punches, and the scallop trim border punch.I also used the color spritzer.

Butterfly Coffee Bag Holder

This is for all of you coffee drinkers, instead of tea drinkers. I looked for ideas for another gift for my upcoming class. I thought it would be nice to make a coffee bag holder. I could not find any for coffee. All of the ones I seen were for tea bags. The problem is tea bags are smaller than coffee bag singles. Due to this problem I had to design my own holder. It was very easy to do though.

I had already said I wanted to keep the same colors as the other 2 gift projects. I was true to my word. The picture above is the front of the holder. The picture below shows you how I made the inside. In case you are wondering why I didn't make it hold 2 coffee bag singles, it is because it would have made the paper longer than 12 inches. I could have made it longer by gluing another piece to the end. Guess what? I did not want to do that.

This last picture you see above shows you that it is 1/4" thick and not just folded in half. Once again, I love this color combination. This class should be a lot of fun to do.

Elegant Box to Give

Welcome to my blog! This is the 2nd project my customers will be making in my Gifts to Give Class. I love how this looks! I am not trying to brag, but there are times you really love how a project you make turns out. I guess I would have to say part of the reason I love it is because I really love these colors together. I really think it gives it the look of elegance.

I used basic black, real red card stock, and First Edition Specialty designer series paper. I used a stamp from the Fabulous Florets stamp set, along with staz on black ink, and stamped on the designer series paper. You need a Big Shot, the box #2 bigz XL die, little leaves sizzlits die, beautiful butterflies bigz die, vintage wallpaper textured impressions embossing folder, and the 1 3/4" scallop die punch to make this paper creation.

This view gives you a look at how big the box is. I decided that besides putting candy inside, you could use votive candles or maybe 2 small bottles of lotion.

Butterfly Corner Bookmark

Do you ever get tired of making cards all of the time? Well, guess what? I do. I like to make 3-D projects more than everyone probably realizes. If you look on my blog it looks like I like making cards more because that is what most pictures are of. I really do enjoy 3-D more though. I will see something another demonstrator has created and think I need to try that, but unfortunately I don't usually do it. Maybe I should make this a goal and try to do a 3-D project at least once a month. I think that is a good idea. Now lets see if I uphold it.

I have seen other people make corner bookmarks, but this is the first time I tried one myself. They turn out to be very nice. This is one of the projects I am going to be doing in my next class. I still have to come up with 2 more projects, which I have ideas for, I just need to make them.

In case you are wondering why 2 of the pictures are similar. I just wanted to have more than one view of what it looked like on a page in the book.

This last picture shows what the entire bookmark looks like. It is a fun project 2 make. In case you are wondering, I used basic black, real red card stock, and first edition specialty designer series paper. I am also planning on using these same colors for the other projects I make too.

Be watching for the other projects I am going to be making for this class. I will try to get them posted fairly quickly. It is hard sometimes though because I work outside of the home too.

Simple Birthday Card

I believe this is the easiest card I have ever made. It turned out look pretty elegant too! It is a one layer card, except for the addition of the butterflies. This is also very fast to make.

To make this card I used all Stampin' Up! products. I used the Just Believe, Hello, Doily, and the Happiest Birthday Wishes stamp sets. For card stock I used whisper white. I used crumb cake and cajun craze classic ink. The tools I used was a Big Shot, color spritzer, and beautiful wings embosslit die. I also added some basic pearl jewels.

Happy Dirt Day Blake!!

Today is a very special day for a very special little boy. It is my grandson's 2nd birthday! Can you tell by what is on the card what he likes to pay with? He loves trucks and cars. He likes to line them up in a row (like a train) and by size too! His birthday party was Sunday. My daughter said he kept saying, "Wow!" Yesterday morning when he got up he was still saying, "Wow!" Yep, so cute.
On to the card. I made this card using the Stampin' Up! stamp set "I Dig You." I thought this was the best stamp set to use for Blake. For card stock I used naturals white and crumb cake. I used early espresso, daffodil delight, bashful blue classic ink, and black staz on ink. For tools I used a stampin' sponge and the color spritzer tool. This card was a lot of fun to make. It has quite a few layers. I cut out each of the trucks and tractors to try and make this card look as realistic as possible. It was lots of fun to make, especially since it was for someone very special to me.

Baby Pillow Boxes

When I placed my last Stampin' Up! order I bought some things that could be used for favors. I have kind of wanted the pillow box die, but wasn't sure about it because of thinking it might be too little. It turns out that the size is great to put some little candies or mints in it.
I bought the baby bundle stamp set and wanted to implement it into these pillow boxes to see what they would look like for a favor for a baby shower.

Stampin' Up! items used for the baby girl favor:
Pillow box bigz die, Big Shot, Beautiful butterflies bigz die, Perfect polka dots textured impressions embossing folder, Dotted scallop ribbon punch, Jewelry tag punch, Baby bundle stamp set, whisper white, pink pirouette, and pretty in pink card stock. The iridescent ribbon is retired and I can't remember the proper name of it.

Blossom Box

Since the flooding in our basement, I decided to move all of my Stampin' Up! stuff upstairs temporarily. I did end up leaving my stamp sets downstairs. They are in a spot where I can get to them easily.
I had a chance to play with the new Blossom Box Die. A lot of people have been having problems making this because of all of the folds. The only problem I had was that the score marks were not as deep as they should have been. I had a hard time seeing where some of them were. I was able to get this done on my first attempt though. It is such a pretty box.

I wanted to let you see this box in a few different ways. The one above has the top pushed down in, which is the most secure way to use this box.

The picture above has what it looks like embellished. I used the 5 petal punch, boho blossoms punch, the largest scallop punch, and lastly the large flower punch. The last 2 I am not sure are named correctly. Like I said, my stamping stuff is upstairs and my computer I am working on is in the basement.
This last picture shows you what the blossom box looks like popped up and the embellishment on the side. In case you are wondering, I used the Beyond The Garden DSP to create this box. I love how it turned out. It did take me a while to make, but it was my first one. I bet the more you make the faster you would get.

Basement Flooding

I just wanted to let everyone know that it may be a little while before I can post something new. Our basement flooded on the 19th. My stamping stuff is fine. I did have to throw away some card stock that got wet, but for the most part everything is good.

The main reason for not posting is because of not being able to spend time stamping. We are having to go through things that were in boxes and on the floor and throw things out. We are having people come in to assess the damage to our basement. We have been told the carpet has to go. That is fine with me. I can hardly stand being down here because of the mildew smell. It is overwhelming!!! The carpet is still wet.

I will try to make some things because I am supposed to have a class soon. It may have to be postponed though. I am not sure how things are going to go.

Watercolor with Fabulous Florets 4

This is the last card in my watercolor fabulous florets class. I think this one is probably my favorite. I just love the look that the "en francais" stamp gives. To me it gives a card a certain elegance about it. It may be my opinion only on it though.

For this card I used all Stampin' Up! products, as usual. I used the stamp sets fabulous florets, en francais and word play. The card stock colors used are melon mambo, whisper white, and watercolor paper. Tools used are aqua painters along with the classic stamp pads.
It is fun working with the water color technique. This one is probably one of the messier ways to do it, but not very messy at all really.

Watercolor with Fabulous Florets 3

This is the third card in the Watercolor Fabulous Florets class. One more to go. It took me some time to make this card. I kept moving things around and trying them in different spots until I finally decided I liked it this way the best.

The difference I used for water coloring on this card was that I used watercolor pencils and blender pens. My last card I am going to use the aqua painters. There are so many different ways you can watercolor. Some of them are less messy than others. Guess which type of like? If you said less messy, that would be me. I really have a hard time using glitter and embossing powders because of the mess. I still need to do it though. I have to think about my customers and not myself all of the time.
I used the same card stock colors and designer series paper in this card that I used for the other 2 cards in the "Fabulous Florets" watercolor class. I also used the flower garden embossing folder for the first time on this card. As always, everything I used to make this card is by Stampin' Up!

Finally, I was able to work on this card again yesterday and able to get it finished. My husband has been on vacation this week. I wanted to make sure I spent time with him and not being in my basement all of the time working on cards. Due to this reason I have postponed my class a week.
I created this card using a different way of water coloring than the last card I made. If you are wondering the difference, you either need to come to my class or maybe if you leave a comment and ask I will tell you that way too.
I used the Fabulous Florets stamp set and the sentiment stamp from the Upsy Daisy stamp set. Cardstock colors are daffodil delight, wild wasabi, whisper white tangerine tango, and watercolor paper. I used the Big Shot with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, and the flower garden embossing folder. All of these products are Stampin' Up!. Like I said, as for the water coloring, you will need to come to my class or leave a comment.

Nautical Father's Day Card

Shh....Please do not tell. This is my husband's Father's Day card. He told me he loves anchors. The Open Sea is the best stamp set because of it. I love how you can make your card look old very easily with this set, as well as, using my favorite tool, the stampin' sponge. Just so much fun!!

This is the third time I have typed everything in here to post this. Every time I try to post, it doesn't do anything. I pray it works this time. I give up for tonight if not.

The main items I used to create this card are "The Open Sea" stamp set, "Nautical Expedition" designer series paper, and a stampin' sponge. The colors are cherry cobbler, not quite navy, basic gray, early espresso, and whisper white.

Watercolor with Fabulous Florets

I looked at my blog about three days ago and was surprised to see how time had quickly passed since the last time I had posted. I am sorry. I try to post at least once a week. I would love to post more often, but it is hard because I work outside of the home also. I don't always have time to make a paper craft creation or I am tired and don't want to do it.
This is the first card in my Fabulous Florets Water Color Class. At this class I am going to be using different tools to create watercolor cards. There are quite a few different ways you can watercolor. You will have to take the class to find out a few of them.

For this card I used the Fabulous Florets stamp set (123025) found in the summer mini catalog. I also used the Beyond the Garden designer series paper (122342), which is also found in the summer mini catalog. I love this stamp set. I guess I just love to color. You can have so much fun because you can play using different colors over and over and end up with a different look every time.
I will be making three more cards in the near future for this class, as well as, a birthday card for my mom, and a Father's Day card for my husband. So be watching for these to be posted.

The Open Sea Cards For Men 2

Well, I finally have the other 2 cards done for my next class. If you haven't bought this stamp set, you may really want to consider it. You can do a lot of different things with it, as you can see with my examples. I think the last card I made is my favorite. It is the last one in this post. The other one I really like is the one in blues from the post before this one. Tell me which one is your favorite.
These cards are made using the stamp set "The Open Sea" in the summer mini catalog (123030) wood or (123032) clear. I am still a wood person. I have yet to play with the clear stamps. I need to do that so if I have a customer interested I will know what I am talking about.
I also used the designer series paper "Nautical Expedition" also found in the summer mini catalog (122343). The colors are early espresso, cherry cobbler, not quite navy, and basic gray.
This is just a close up so you can see some of the detail in this card. Making the background with the stamps was a lot of fun. I added early espresso with a stampin' sponge to give it an old world feel. If you have the stamp set you need to give it a try.

The Open Sea Cards For Men

I have been so wanting to start being able to work with the stamp set "The Open Sea" and the designer series paper "Nautical Expedition." I have seen so many wonderful cards being made by fellow demonstrators using these Stampin' Up! products. Just in case you are wondering, they are found in the summer mini catalog.

Moving on, below are 2 sample cards that I have created using the stamp set and paper I mentioned above. They are also the first 2 cards I have made for "The Open Sea Cards For Men Class." I am very pleased with both of them. I truly do enjoy working with these products. They are worth the investment, if you ask me. There are not a lot of stamp sets for the masculine side. When I seen this set I knew right away I wanted it.

Not only do I like the stamp set and paper, I also love the colors! I think we are all drawn to certain colors. For me these colors are some that fall into that category. I can say since becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator my choice of colors has broadened greatly.

Gift Bag Card

I wanted to try something different when I went to create this card. I had seen a demonstrator make her card look like a gift bag. Instead of creating a gift bag card, I decided to make a card that has a gift bag on it. I do believe it is possible to make this in such a way that you could put a gift card down inside of the bag or maybe something little like jewelry.
This is not one of my most favorite cards, but it works and is a little different.

Fabulous Florets Mother Card

I wanted to get this posted pretty quickly. Mother's Day is over and this was the card I had made for my mom for that occasion. I did realize though by the saying it did not have to be categorized as a Mother's Day card only. It could be used for birthday or any other time for your mom.
I had a lot of fun with this card. I was very pleased with the end result too. I ended up using my watercolor crayons and blender pens for most of the flowers. The solid image flowers are stamped with classic ink. On the bashful blue flower I used a night of navy stampin' write marker to accent the petals. To be quite honest, I love this stamp set. It is very versatile. Many demonstrators are having a lot of fun using it. If you are interested in purchasing it the number is (123025 for wood) and (123027 for the clear mounted) set.

I wanted you to be able to see a close up of the flowers. I cut out everyone of the flowers by hand. It took some time to do, but it was not that long really. Like I said, I had a lot of fun with this card. Putting the pearls in the middle of the flowers added a lot too.

Beautiful Wings Mother's Day Card

Happy Mother's Day to anyone that is a mother! Being a mother is one of the greatest gifts God has given to us. I know how much I love my children and would not trade them for anything. Then to think that God loves our children even more than we do! Wow!
I have attached a picture of the card I made for my daughter. This is her 2nd year of being a mom. I know she liked butterflies at one time. I am not sure if she still likes them as much as she used to, but I took a chance on it anyhow. This was the final result. I played with the butterflies for a while as to where I wanted them placed on the card. I even played with the bow on the ribbon as to where I wanted it placed at. That is the fun thing about cards. You never know what it will look like until it is finished.

Sweet and Sour Birthday Bakery

Finally, I have card 2 done for my birthday card class. I stuck with the same colors as the last card because they are bright and cheery.
I have made a couple of cards similar to this one in the past. I thought the stamp set "Birthday Bakery" makes a great window front for a bakery. In case you haven't figured out why I used the birthday saying from "Afterthoughts," I will tell you. Since I designed this to look like a bakery, underneath the happy birthday it says, "Call when its time for cake." I thought that was great because we call a bakery to order a cake. Okay, maybe dumb to some of you, but I thought it worked well. I did want it to look like a store sign.

These are the supplies I used to make this card. All items are Stampin' Up!

Cardstock: rose red, pumpkin pie, very vanilla, and sweet and sour specialty designer series paper; Stamp sets: birthday bakery, afterthoughts, and itty bitty bits; Tools: curly label xl punch, and scallop edge border punch; Classic ink: rose red, versmark, and stampin' write marker rose red; Accessories: retired 1/4" rose red grosgrain ribbon.

Take A Spin Sweet and Sour Birthday

Happy Easter! Tomorrow I will be celebrating what Jesus did for me. I also wanted to tell you that I am sorry I have not posted in a while. Some things that were not expected happened. My mom had to have triple heart bypass surgery. Besides working and doing what I need to do at home, my mom has needed help too. She keeps getting better everyday. I know she will be happy to be able to do things without being out of breath and tired all of the time. Enough of that for now.
This is the first card I have made for my upcoming birthday card class. I still need to make 3 more of them. I have had this one day for about a week, but I am just now getting around to posting it.
I used sweet and sour specialty designer series paper. I love the bright colors! For the stamped image I used pumpkin pie and rose red markers on the take a spin stamp. The pom pom trim is melon mambo and unfortunately, it was a sale-a-bration item which is no longer available. They may have something similar when the new catalog comes out in July. We will have to wait and see. I used rose red, very vanilla, and daffodil delight cardstock. The 5/8" grosgrain ribbon is pumpkin pie. Of course, I used the game spinner hand on the take a spin image. The only punch used on this card is the scallop trim border.

2 more Easter Cards

I am not sure what this post is going to look like when I am done with it. This is when you really need to understand html. To me, it is very boring though.

My goal was to let you see a close up of the dimension in this card, as well as, having the choice of using the card as a horizontal or vertical card.

This card was made from the Stamping 411 sketch challenge. It was Saturday sketch challenge 196 to be exact. Sometimes it is nice having a sketch that someone else has come up with to design your card from.

I do have to say this card is my favorite out of all 5 I had made. I used certainly celery and whisper white cardstock to create this. I used my Big Shot and the vintage wallpaper embossing folder. I used the 5 petal flower punch for the flowers. If you didn't notice, I did not use any rubber stamping on this card at all. If you really wanted to you could always add a sentiment. I just chose not too.

The card you see below is the last one I made for the Easter Card Class. The colors are pretty in pink, concord crush, and lap of luxury designer series paper. Once again, I used my Big Shot with the framed tulips embossing folder. The bird and branches were created using the two step bird XL punch. The stamped image is from the All Holidays stamp set.

Easter Card Class

Easter is coming! It will be here before we know it. I have scheduled my Easter Class for next week. My customers will be making 4 different Easter cards with 2 of each one. I have posted 3 cards I have done. The one at the end I am pretty sure I am scrapping though. I did not like it. I am planning on making another one to take its place.

The first card you see above is using the stamp set "Easter Blossoms" from the Occasions Mini Catalog. If you are interested in getting it you need to do so by April 30th. The colors I used to create this card are marina mist, soft suede, and very vanilla. I used my Big Shot with the embossing folder elegant bouquet on the marina mist cardstock.

The second card above is made using the stamp set "Just Believe." I love the saying, because our faith in Christ is based on this. I thought it made an excellent saying for Easter. The colors used in this card are certainly celery, crumb cake, daffodil delight, and whisper white. This is a fast card to make. It turns out beautifully too!

The third card you see above is actually the first card I had made. This is the one I am going to discard from the class. I don't know what it is that I really don't like about it, but I just don't. I used concord crush, very vanilla, pretty in pink, basic gray, and lap of luxury designer series paper.

In case you are wondering, I do have another card made for this class. I still need to take pictures of it. I decided I will post it when I get the 4th card made and post them at the same time.

More Cards of Elegance

Here are the other two cards I made for the "Cards of Elegance Class." To be honest, I ended up changing the build a blossom on the first card you see. I had originally used white embossing powder on each leaf. I could not settle on it. I did not like it. I thought I would try using bravo burgundy classic ink, instead. That was the winner for me. I decided to go with it. I was so much happier. Color makes a huge difference in what you think of a card. At least, for me it does.

This is a close up of the ribbon. I just zig zagged it back and forth. I found using snail was not strong enough to hold the ribbon in place. I ended up having to use sticky strip to get it to stay. I don't want my friends/customers going home and having their ribbons come undone on them.

This card was the very last one I made. I really love the colors in the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper. What really seemed to add to it was when I added in the two branches. The other thing I used was crystal effects on the brown part of the big flower. I don't know if you can really tell that much in this picture though.

This picture shows the dimension a little bit. To make the branches have texture I just took a stampin' spot (always artichoke) and stamped up and down on them. I also added a clear rhinestone brad to the flower.

This class should be a lot of fun to do. I am looking forward to it.

Cards of Elegance

Do you ever look at a card and just think to yourself, "Now, that is elegant?" I don't mean pretty or beautiful, either, I mean "elegant." For my upcoming card class, that is what I was wanting to try and accomplish. Cards with elegance!
The layered example below was really the second card I had made. I was not sure at first if it was going to have the elegant look about it, but in the end, I believe, that it does fit into that category. I believe it took adding some rhinestones and dimension to give it the look of elegance I was looking for. I would love to hear if you think it is elegant or not. I will not be offended if you don't agree.
This is a close up of the dimension that is on the card pictured below. This was also the first card I had made for my class. I thought right away that this was definitely an elegant card. The stamp set "vintage vogue" is such a great set to get the look of elegance.

Of course, I had to show you the total picture of what the card looked like. I did end up changing two things on the card though. At first, the saying "thank you" was in an oval shape. I didn't think it looked right. The other thing I changed was adding the design to the saying. The original I only had the saying, which left it white and boring, in my opinion.

I have two more cards to come up with yet to be finished with my elegance class. Pray I can figure them out. I do have a couple of ideas in my head, but I need to make them into reality.

Two Step Owl Birthday

My husband turned 50 the 19th of February. I have already decided when it is my turn I am not going to like it. Something about that number makes me think "OLD." Enough said about that though. On to what I am posting. My husband likes owls. I wanted to somehow incorporate an owl into his card. I finally came up with the idea of making it look like it is holding a happy birthday sign with its feet. I picked the colors from the current IB & C catalog. I do that sometimes when I can't figure out colors to use.
This first picture shows the layers of the card. Most of the time when you take a picture facing right at it you can't see the layers. This is why I took this view and posted it on here.

When I was totally finished with this card, I was pleased with the end results. Believe it or not, I am not always totally pleased with what I make. I am sure some of you feel the same way when you make something too.

Late Valentine Card

Ok, ok. I know that Valentine's Day is over and I am late posting this card. None the less, I still wanted to post it on my blog anyhow. I guess, better late than never.
When starting this card I was going to make it the normal 4 1/4" by 5 1/2", but the "LOVE" I was wanting to use was too long to use on a card that size. Due to that reason, I had to change it to a 4 1/4" by 9 3/8" card, instead. It is nice making a different sized card every once in a while.
I even debated on the colors to use to make this card. At first, I was thinking along the lines of blues, but then I had already bought the Love Impressions Designer Series Paper and thought I should use it.
What counted in the end was that my husband loved the colors!

There is no stamping of rubber stamps on this card. It was made using punches, rub-ons, designer series paper, classic ink just to go around some of the edges of the shapes punched out, and a white gel pen.

Magic on Black Class

Tomorrow, I will find out how well my fellow stampers enjoy learning this technique. I pray it goes well and they love their cards when they are done.

I ended up using a few retired items on this card. The stamp set "Live your Dream" is retired and the so saffron ribbon is also. I did not have enough solid image stamps and that is why I used this stamp set to make this last "Black Magic Technique" card.

I am thrilled that some of you have been inspired by the first 3 cards I have posted to try this technique yourself. I can't wait to see what yours turn out like. They are fun to make.

Magic on Cardstock Class

When I have seen samples of cards using the Black Magic Technique, I loved it. I changed the name a bit though in my title for the post because I do not like the name of the technique.

Personally, I have always liked black for a background. When I used to take my children to have their pictures taken I was always partial to the poses that had a black background. Nope, I don't care for white backgrounds. Black makes things pop (stand out)!

I have 3 cards finished. I have 1 more started but not finished yet. When I get it done I will post it on here for you to see.

Stampin' Up! Colors I used for this card are basic black, tangerine tango, and whisper white. Stamps: tart n tangy and sincere salutations. Tools: 1 3/4" scallop circle, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/4" x 7/8" oval punch, big shot, elegant lines embossing folder, white gel pen, and stampin' sponge. Accessories: basic pearls.

Stampin' Up! colors I used to make this card are regal rose, rose red, basic black, and naturals white. Stamps: thoughts and prayers. Tools: scallop trim border punch and stampin' sponge. Accessories: 1/4" black grosgrain ribbon.

Stampin' Up! colors I used for this last card were rich razzleberry, basic black, whisper white, and regal rose. Stamps: upsy daisy and sincere salutations. Have you ever looked at a card and knew right away that you want to try and make one too? That is exactly how I felt when I seen this card in the Stampin' Success Magazine (February 2011). It is not an exact duplicate of the one in the magazine, but it folds like it.

This card is very neat. It continuously unfolds over and over always returning to where you originally started. My daughter's birthday was coming up. I thought this would be neat to make for her. I waited to post it on here until she got it and seen it for herself. She and her husband both thought it was pretty neat.

The fun thing about the card is that it looks like it is very complicated to make. Guess what? It really isn't. The main thing is that your cuts have to be precise.

Build A Cupcake Birthday Card

Wow, is it cold outside or what? I know, it could be worse. Still, it is cold outside. Now that I have made that clear. Here is another card using one of the new punches featured in the Occasions Mini Catalog, page 22, Build a Cupcake (121807). You will probably be seeing this one used quite often on here. I did not purchase the coordinating stamp set for this one. I thought that with all of the different Designer Series Paper and cardstock that would give a lot of choices for style, color, and texture.

Build a Blossom Card

In my last post I said that there were a few things in the Occasions Mini Catalog I had wanted to purchase right away. Take a Spin was one of them and Build a Blossom (121923 wood and 121994 clear) and the coordinating Blossom Petals Punch (121808) was another one.

The flower can be made in quite a few ways depending on the petals that you choose to stamp and punch out. The size of the flower can be different too. I guess what I am saying is you have quite a few options which makes this stamp set and punch very versatile.

I have shared before that one thing I really have a hard time with is colors. I have found that going to the Stampin' Up! catalog, looking at their samples, and finding my favorite color choices from those samples has helped me a lot. For this card I chose perfect plum, pretty in pink, concord crush, always artichoke, very vanilla cardstock, and lap of luxury dsp.

Take A Spin

When I received my Occasions Mini Catalog in the mail, there were quite a few things I knew I wanted right away. The Take a Spin stamp set was one of these items. I like this set because it can be used for many occasions. Birthday, Father's Day, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Anniversary, and more.

For an upcoming class I thought it would be cool to use some of the new things I purchased. I thought my customers may enjoy getting a chance to play with them too.

This card is made using an image that makes me think of someone I love very much. I am not going to say who it is just in case she looks at my post. I may send it to her sometime soon. She is all of these things that this wheel represents.

This is the recipe for this card, using Stampin' Up! materials only.

Cardstock: elegant eggplant, cajun craze, more mustard, always artichoke, very vanilla, and autumn spice dsp (retired); Ink: always artichoke, more mustard, and elegant eggplant; Stamp sets: take a spin and defining alphabet; Tools: Big Shot, scallop circle #2 die, 2 1/2" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 3/4" scallop circle punch, and the scallop trim border punch; Accessories: game spinner hands.

Stamping411 Challenge SSC183

I loved the Stamping411 sketch for this week. I needed to make a thank you card and the sketch was a great design for me to work from.

When starting I thought I wasn't going to like it, but once again the end result turned out great. That is what counts. I chose my colors from the Stampin' Up! catalog. Sometimes when I can't come up with the colors I would like to use, I will look in the catalog at the samples, find out what colors were used, and then make a card of my own.

Here is a close up of the butterfly. It is made 3D by using dimensionals and glue dots. I twisted 1/4" early espresso grosgrain ribbon around the middle. I should probably say I also used my Big Shot and the Bigz Beautiful Butterflies die. I am very thankful that I bought it.

All products used are Stampin' Up!
Cardstock: baja breeze, crumb cake, soft suede, and elegant soiree dsp
Ink: baja breeze, early espresso, and soft suede

Christmas, yes, Christmas will be here and gone before you know it. I pray that you and your families are all doing well and have a wonderful Christmas celebrating what the Lord did for us by sending His son, Jesus. Now that is the most wonderful gift anyone has ever given to us.

Have you been making cards, tags, and gifts? I sure do hope so. I try to work on things when I have some extra time to do it. I wanted to share with you 2 more Christmas tags I made. These are really fast and fun to make. Like I have shared with you before, my daughter's boyfriend is a hunter. I had to make a special gift tag for him with a deer on it. Do you suppose it would make him not want to kill a deer ever again? I doubt it. How could you shoot something so innocent, though? I guess, you have to love the sport.

Autumn Spice Favors

Sorry for being late in posting these Autumn Spice Favors. I had them done last week, but because of having family staying here I spent time with them as much as possible.

I made these up for fellow coworkers at my job. I figure the only way to try and sell Stampin' Up! is to promote it by making things. These were very fast to create. I may try to do something similar closer to Christmas.

To make these up I used Autumn Spice DSP. I used coordinating cardstock and ink. The punches used were modern label, word window, 1 1/4" circle, 1 3/8" circle, scallop circle, scallop border, eyelet border, and scallop trim border punches. The 1/4" grosgrain ribbon was chocolate chip and always artichoke, of which, have been retired.

More Candy Lane Christmas Cards

My daughter, son-in-law, and grandson are here visiting over Thanksgiving. I have not been able to really spend much time working on any stamping projects lately because of it. I am enjoying their time being here though. There is plenty of time for stamping when they have to go back home. I need to spend as much time with them as possible. I do not know when I will get to see them again.

Here are a few more pictures that go along with the 60 Christmas Card Class post that is just below this one. I have found that for some reason I really like the blue cards. I did not realize it until I started hanging the samples up for my class.

I can't believe how quickly Christmas is coming up on us. Thursday is Thanksgiving!! I pray you all have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING with your family. This is also a great time to share your talent of crafting with you loved ones too. I pray you have time to do that. Homemade gifts are the best!!!

Candy Lane Christmas 60 Card Class

Have you ever decided to do a class similar to what you have done before, but differently? Well, that is what I have done with this class. To be honest, I do not think I will ever do it again, though. Instead of using the simply scrappin' kit to do this class, I decided to change it up a bit and use Candy Lane Christmas DSP and Candy Cane rub-ons. I knew this class would be different because of not having the stickers to decorate with, but I didn't realize how much time and work the stickers saved. The rub-ons needed help. There were not many borders to use either. Needless to say, I have had to do a lot of punching and improvising. The cards are turning out very pretty, but it is taking quite a while to do.

I still have a lot more samples I need to make up, but here are quite a few I have done. I am glad that even though it is a lot of work, at least they are turning out great.

Lovely Deer Birthday

Guess what? Someone is having another birthday. I bet you can't tell what their interest is. Just in case you can't figure it out, I will tell you. He loves to hunt with his dad.

This card was fun to make. I put a lot of detail into it. I cut out the pine tree (lovely as a tree) and the deer (nature silhouettes). I wanted them to stand out and look like they were in the front and the line of trees are in the background. I think it worked. I was not going to put the strip of dsp (autumn spice) vertically going through the background at first. I had cut it off of the mat to make it fit on the base of the card better. When I was almost finished I put it on the background scene and loved the look.

I wanted to add a little bit of "wow" to the card by adding crystal effects to the trees. I used the same effect on another card I did a few weeks ago for my husband. It just adds a lot to the card.

Here are 2 different views of the card which show the dimension. Like I said before. I had fun making this card. I always love to see the end results. I never know when I start what it will look like in the end. I think that is part of the fun of making a card.

As always, I used all Stampin' Up! products. I mentioned some of the items above that were used. Here is a list of some of the other things.

Pumpkin Cupcake

My daughter had her 20th birthday just a few days ago. I wanted to come up with a cupcake that had a pumpkin for decoration around the cupcake wrapper. Well, you need to tell me what you think of the end result. I had to laugh. Instead of it looking like a cupcake, it kind of looks like a pumpkin with a fro. I was disappointed at first with the end result, but it has grown on me and I do like it.

Fall Anniversary

I finally got around to stamping again. I have some special occasions coming up. One of them is my anniversary. I do not believe my husband will see this card because he doesn't have facebook and he doesn't go to my blog. At least, I hope he doesn't.
Since we were married in the fall, I decided to make a fall card. I used the same colors that were in the fall cards in the previous post. I was even going to use some of the DSP, but I ended up changing my mind and didn't. You can't tell all of the detail that is in this card very easily. I cut out the leaf, pumpkins, acorn, and squash, individually. I put dimensionals behind them to make them stand out. Guess what? Then I wasn't happy with the trees. I had already stamped them twice, just a little off from each other to add dimension. I thought it would bring it out more if I used crystal effects. I did not want them to be solid though. Instead, I dabbed the tip of the bottle up and down all over the trees making clear dots all over. The other thing I did was I sprayed champagne mist on the cut-outs I had made too. I am pleased with the end result. I guess in a few days I will find out if my husband is.

Just in case you wonder what stamp sets and tools I used, here they are. As always, Stampin' Up! products are used.

Autumn Spice Card Class

These are the cards I designed for my next card class. I had to postpone the class for a week. I will be having it next week, instead. The nice thing about it is I can tell the ladies that are coming they can see what they will be making if they visit my blog. I usually don't have the cards done before I have the class. I do think it would be great if I did have them prepared ahead of time. I do believe it helps people decide easier if they would want to attend the class or not.

I still think it is funny, how a card that I think I am not going to like, ends up being my favorite. With that said, that is exactly how I felt about the very first card you see in this post. I just wasn't sure how I was going to get it to all go together. The other thing I was concerned about was the stamped image. I knew there wouldn't be a lot of time for the ladies to color it in. After I stamped the image I used the spritzer tool all over the image. Lastly, I used a stampin' sponge and went around the edge of the top note. I am happy with the end result.

I have seen some other demonstrators criss cross their ribbon on their cards. I wanted to try it sometime. That is exactly what I did on this card.

For this card, the Autumn Spice DSP is the main focus. I just added a few things to it to embellish it and make it into a Fall card.

Last, but not least, I tried to make it look like the stamped image is on a placemat. The new embossing folder "Square Lattice" gave it the textured look it needed, as well as, cutting the edges and making them look frayed.

This should be a fun class. As long as my class attendees are happy, that is what counts. As always, all supplies are Stampin' Up! except this time I used color pencils to color in the image on the last card.

Blake's First Birthday Card

Finally, I am posting my grandson's first birthday card. I have been saving my cards and not posting them as soon as I am done, just for the sake of having something new to post each week. This card was made with the DSP Greenhouse Gala. I thought that the colors were great for a birthday card, especially for a one year old.

As usual when I am done I can think of other things I could have done to it to make it stand out more. For instance, I could have used crystal effects on the frosting of the cupcake. I could have used dazzling diamonds ep too. What is done is done though. I did give the letters and saying some dimension by adding two colors and making them just a little off centered to each other. I really like the look it leaves.

Just in case you are wondering.......I used crazy for cupcakes and the defining alphabet stamp sets. The cardstock colors used are real red, pear pizzazz, whisper white, baja breeze, and pumpkin pie.

I wanted this card to be a keepsake that his mommy will keep for him until he gets older. I am not sure if she did keep it, but that was up to her.

Island Oasis Butterfly

Happy Labor Day! I hope you get to spend this day with family and friends. Some of us have to work on this day. I happen to be one of them. A special "thank you" to our health care workers though. I know they have to work a lot of the holidays. It is a very important line of work.

Well, on to my card. This is the 4th butterfly card I created. When I first began working on it I was not sure if I was even going to like it. To tell you the truth, it became my favorite of the 4 cards. I love the colors in this one. The butterfly is very pretty. No, I am not bragging about it either. I never know what a card is going to look like until it is finished. Even I am surprised with the finished look a lot of the times.

Sunny Butterfly

Hello, once again. I hope that everyone in blogger world is doing great.
I have another butterfly card to share with you, today. This one I did not add a sentiment on because I thought it had enough as it is. I called this the "Sunny Butterfly" because when you look at it, well, it is bright and sunny looking.

For this card I used the stamp set, Upsy Daisy. I tried to make layers by stamping the flowers twice using daffodil delight and pumpkin pie classic ink. I used my beautiful butterflies bigz die and ran it through the Big Shot. For cardstock colors I used real red, chocolate chip, and greenhouse gala DSP. For the little butterflies I used the beautiful wings embosslit die and ran it through my Big Shot, also. The swirls is a sizzlit die called swirls scribbles. The cardstock I used for it was pear pizzazz.

How are things going for all of you? For the most part, everything is going well in my world. God is good!

I am finally posting a card that I had made last week for my butterfly class. I have 2 others to post also. I will try to get them on here in the next few days. Back to the card. When I was finished with this card, it came in second place out of the four cards I made. Second place according to my own judgement. I am probably more critical of my own work than most other people would be. What makes you like or dislike a card? I think it is a lot of things. Color, stamps used, design, and there may be even more than what I am thinking right now that will determine whether or not you will like a certain card. What I think made this card "pop" was the use of the real red butterflies. The card stock I used is the shimmer white. I put them through my big shot using the elegant bouquet embossing folder. I then used a stamping sponge to apply classic real red ink. I like to rub and swirl my sponge on the paper. You can tap up and down with your sponge, if you like. You get a more even and thicker color when you rub, though.

Beautiful Butterfly

I don't know about you, but for some reason my most favorite card in the new Stampin' Up! catalog is on page 132. I knew I wanted to make a card with a butterfly using the same technique they used to create their card. I do not like to case someone else's work. I had to do mine differently anyhow because I do not own the stamp set they used. Well, anyways I am very pleased with the end results. I did practice on some sample butterflies the technique. It took me a few tries to get it to look the way I wanted it.

This card is going to be one of the 4 cards being made at my next class, which is next week. I have a feeling I am going to hear when they make theirs that they won't want to give it away. Yes, I have heard that. It is pretty funny.

Okay! Here it is. This is what I came up with for a "Pink Manly Card." Yes, you could give it to a lady if you really wanted to. I asked my husband for his opinion on it. He said he thought it was manly. I just know some of what we consider the more feminine colors are being worn by men right now. Yes, pink is one of them.

I am very pleased with how this card turned out. Once again, the picture could be better and it is more vibrant in real life. You may not be able to tell, but I used pink pirouette ink under the saying. It added a lot to the card.

Stamp sets: upsy daisy and nature silhouettes; Cardstock: basic gray, pink pirouette, and natural white; Ink: basic gray and pink pirouette; Tools: bone folder to roughen up the edges of the cardstock; Accessories: pewter jumbo eyelets and 5/8" black grosgrain ribbon.

This is card number 3 from my manly card class. I think we decided this would be really good to give to a little boy though. I really didn't think about it when I was making it. I am sure there are some men that would like it also.

Manly Birthday

Here is another card I came up with for my manly card class. I used the same DSP and cardstock in this card, that I used in my last card I had posted. To be honest, I think the cards could be used for any gender and age though.

Do you remember the challenge I gave to you in my last post? Well, I wanted to see if you could come up with a manly card using pink. I don't expect you to use all pink, but at least implement it into the card somehow. I have one made, but I am saving it for last to post. I have one more card to show you in another post and then I will show you my "pink manly car."

I finally have a new card to share with you. I have a card class coming up Tuesday evening. This class is for men in our lives. It is so easy to create cards for women, but for men on the other hand that can be difficult. I do believe men also enjoy homemade cards too. My husband seems to, at least he tells me he likes them.

I chose to use the stamp set Tropical Party and the saying from Upsy Daisy. Of course, I wanted to use a stamp set that I thought was manly and not feminine. I believe this set was a great choice for that purpose. I chose the DSP Island Oasis. The cardstock colors are old olive, pumpkin pie, and whisper white. I used the modern label punch and word window punch along with 1/4" old olive grosgrain ribbon.

I can honestly say I don't know if I could make a manly card using pink. It does sound like a cool challenge to try. Men do wear pink more often now. I challenge you to try it. I am going to try creating one myself. If you take me up on this challenge please tell me by commenting and post your card on your blog.

Flowers, Flowers, Flowers

When I was originally planning this class, I was going to use some of the different techniques that demonstrators have come up with for making 3-D flowers. The more I thought of it though, I decided to keep it simple and went with designer series paper that was flowery. I did not want to discourage or frustrate my customers because they prefer "simple."

The card below was made using the DSP pink flamingo along with basic black, and whisper white cardstock. I used the new 2 3/8" scallop circle punch, the 1 3/4" circle punch, the scallop border punch, the modern label punch, and the word window. For accessories, I used a clear rhinestone brad, 1/4" black grosgrain ribbon, and I also used a white gel pen. Lastly, for the stamped images I used teeny tiny wishes and fifth avenue floral.

This card is made with the stamp set Because I Care. The colors are brocade blue (retired), night of navy, so saffron, and whisper white. I colored in the flower using stampin' pastels and a stampin' write marker. For tools I used the large oval punch and the scallop oval punch. Lastly, I used the 1/4" night of navy grosgrain ribbon, which made a huge difference in what this card looked like.

My last card I have here was made using nouveau chic designer series paper, sage shadow, basic black, and apricot appeal cardstock. I ran the sage shadow through my big shot using the backgrounds 1 texturz plate. I rubbed basic gray ink with a stamping sponge all over the embossed sage shadow cardstock. For the flowers I used the fancy flower XL punch, the boho blossoms punch, and the simple flower embosslit die, which was run through the big shot also. I rubbed so saffron ink on the so saffron flower, which make the embossing pop! As for the accessories I used a black brad and 1/4" apricot appeal grosgrain ribbon (retired). I just remembered I had used the sincere salutations stamp set for the saying and the scallop oval punch too.

There were 4 cards made in this class. If you are wondering where the 4th card is at, you will have to look at the post from June 3rd. I was going to give that card to my mom for her birthday, but I thought it would be fun for my customers to make for the class instead. It was one of the 3-D flowers somebody came up with using our XL fancy flower punch. I do not remember who was the one that came up with the idea. If it is you, you can tell me and I will give you the credit.

My niece graduated from being homeschooled and earning her GED. I only had one stamp that said, "Happy Graduation." I did not want to use it. I decided to use my defining alphabet set to spell out the word "grad." I decided on stars too because she is a star that can go out and make a difference in our world. She was also the star of the day. I just guessed for colors. I hope that she liked how it turned out.

These are the supplies that I used to create this card.

Cardstock: concord crush, pretty in pink, basic gray, and very vanilla; Stamp set: defining alphabet; Classic ink: basic gray; Tools: scallop trim border, small star punch (retired), XL star punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, 2 3/8" XL scallop circle punch, crop-o-dile, and 1/16" hole punch; Accessories: soft subtles brad (retired) and 5/8" very vanilla grosgrain ribbon.

This picture is not the best. The colors are much more vibrant than what this shows. You get the idea though.

Bella Bleu Set

It has been a while since I have posted anything new. It is not because I have not been working on any stamping projects, but because of work and getting home and being tired. Pretty lame excuse, I know, but the truth.

My mom had a birthday towards the end of June. I wanted to use my baskets and blooms die for the very first time, of which, I think it turned out really cute. I think it is easy to use and put together. I put some jelly belly's into a cello bag, tied it with a ribbon, and put it inside of the basket. I bought some clipboards at a local craft store that you could totally design yourself. I was really wanting to buy one of those long pads of paper to attach to it, but of course, I could not find any paper to match at the time. Lastly, I made a card that would match the basket and clipboard.

These are the items I used to create this set. Almost everything is Stampin' Up! The clipboard used is not.

Cardstock: not quite navy, kraft (crumb cake), very vanilla, and bella bleu DSP

Classic Ink: not quite navy and crumb cake

Stamp sets: itty bitty bits, tiny tags, teeny tiny wishes, and sincere salutations

Tools: big shot, baskets and blooms die, build a brads, 2 3/8" scallop circle XL, corner rounder, crop-o-dile, top note die, and the eyelet border punch

Accessories: 1/4" very vanilla grosgrain ribbon, 3/8" kraft taffeta ribbon, and bitty buttons

Father's Day Card

Hello blogger world. I finally have something new to post today. Father's Day is coming upon us very quickly. Even though I can't make a card for my own father because he is no longer on this earth with us, I still have a husband to make one for. I would make one for my son-in-law too, but he is away on a training course for the air force right now. I may have to think something up differently for him.

Below is the end result of what I came up with. My husband would probably love to go to the beach right now. It would be great if we could. It is not doable for us right now though. I thought I would use a stamp set that could be used for a manly card. It is in the summer mini catalog.

Just Because

All I keep telling you, blog fans, is, "I'm sorry." I still can't believe how fast a week goes by. I really do want to post something new at least once a week. Once I keep that going I will try for more than once. First things first though.

I have been wanting to make a 3-D flower. I used the extra large fancy flower punch for the one you see below. I punched out about 5 of them. I punched a hole in the middle and then scrunched them up. To make it stand out more I added chocolate chip classic ink to the outside edge of the flowers.
The recipe for this card.

Stamp set: well scripted; Cardstock: tempting turquoise and pink flamingo dsp; Ink: chocolate chip classic; Tools: eyelet border punch and extra large fancy flower punch; Accessories: 1/4" chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon and a sending love chocolate chip brad.

I'm Sorry and Praying For You Class

On Tuesday, I am having a class where we will be making some cards that say, "I'm sorry and Praying for You." I decided "I'm Sorry" can be for apologizing or for sympathy, whichever one is needed at the time. If you are a praying person, of which I am, there are times the Lord lays someone on your heart. That would be a perfect time to send a "Praying for You" card.

I always try to make my cards different from each other. I know a lot of demonstrators tend to use the same colors or same designer series paper. I like to give a variety of colors. To be honest, my main customers love the color blue. I do try to always have a blue card for them.

I used the tropical party stamp set and the island oasis dsp to make the first card. These items can be ordered from the summer mini catalog. The stamp set (tropical party) is such a fun set to work with. I hope it will make it to the new catalog that will be coming out in July.

I love the nouveau chic dsp. I think it must have something to do with the colors used in it. I am trying to use up as much of my paper as possible that will be retiring soon.

I had to cheat a little bit and see how other people have used the stamp set "Three Little Words." Once I see other's ideas it was easy for me to come up with my own for this one. The dsp is pink flamingo.

Last of all, but certainly not the least is my blue card. I did use retired dsp on this one, everything else is current though. I used the stamp sets "Thoughts and Prayers" and "Itty Bitty Bits."

Mother's Day Cards

I hope that you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. It isn't by mistake that I am just now posting these Mother's Day cards. I had to wait to make sure that the loved ones I sent them to did not see them before they got them.

The first card you see I made for my daughter's first Mother's Day. I wanted it to be special. I knew she loves the beach and even would like to go there. I thought that this fun and new stamp set would make a cute and unique mother's day card. I know it is not what you would think of for a mother's day card, but I also know that the recipient will love it. She isn't hard to please.

These are a list of supplies that I used to make this card. (Stampin' Up! only, of course :-) )

Cardstock: whisper white, so saffron, old olive, and island oasis dsp (summer mini catalog);
Stamp sets: tropical party (summer mini catalog) and all holidays; Ink: tempting turquoise, old olive, pumpkin pie, rose red, and always artichoke; Tools: ticket corner punch; Accessories: clear rhinestone brads, turquoise and yellow rhinestone brads, dazzling diamonds, and crystal effects

Now for my second card. I made this one for my mom. She loves flowers and always has since I can remember. There have been a lot of different ways of making flowers shown recently from other Stampin' Up! demonstrators. This one looked very simple to make, which is why I chose this one. Dawn Olchefske came up with the idea and you can watch a demonstration video of how it is done by going to her blog here. This technique is done by using re-inkers, the butterfly punch, shimmer paper, and a misting bottle. Remember if you do not have some of the supplies needed to make them you can always purchase them through me or come over and I will show you how.

These are the Stampin' Up! supplies I used to make this card.

Hello. I wanted to let everyone know that I am still here and doing well. I have not posted in a while, I know. I will be posting some new things very soon though. I have a Mother's Day card to post, but it would be seen by the recipient. I want to wait until she has it to post it.

I am sorry I have not been posting as much as I would like. I am working and still adjusting to that, as well as, going through things here on the home front. Life has been very eventful.

My goal is to at least post one thing a week. I am going to try and keep that.

Tuesday's Birthday Card Class

Welcome to my blog everyone. Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peak at my paper creations. I hope you like what you see and will visit often.

Here are the 4 different cards we will be making at my upcoming birthday card class. When everyone is finished with the class they will be taking home 8 cards total. They will have 2 cards of each of the 4 different designs.

I am always amazed. It seems like the one that is my least favorite, ends up being one that my family likes. We sure do have different tastes, probably a very good thing too.

For this first card you see I used night of navy, brocade blue, basic gray, and naturals white cardstock. The stamp sets I used were fifth avenue floral and well scripted. Tools I used were the big shot, sizzlits lots of tags, ticket corner punch, eyelet border punch, and the wide oval punch. The only accessory is brocade blue 5/8" grosgrain ribbon.

For the 2nd card below, I used cameo coral, chocolate chip, real red, whisper white, and pink flamingo dsp. The stamp sets I used were out of the box and voila. For tools I used the big shot, bigz die two tags, white gel pen, scallop border punch, scallop circle punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, and the 1/16" hole punch. For accessories I used a real red brad from the bold brights and 5/8" chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon.

For the 3rd card I used taken with teal, pumpkin pie, whisper white, and sweet pea dsp. The stamp sets I used were fun & fast notes and sincere salutations. For tools I used the large oval punch and the scallop oval punch.

I wanted this to be a simple card. This is my least favorite, but my husband said he likes the color. Seeing this card in person looks much better than it does on here.

Lastly, which in reality, this was the very first card I had made. I wanted a card that could be used for anyone despite their gender. Stars work well in this case.

For cardstock I used apricot appeal, basic black, sage shadow, basic gray, and nouveau chic. For tools I used the color spritzer tool, large and small star punches, the modern label punch, and the word window punch. For accessories I used basic black brads and 1/4" sage shadow grosgrain ribbon. I do not know what it is, but I love the nouveau chic dsp. I will miss some of the colors they are phasing out. Yes, it will be nice having new colors too.

Simple Cards

These are the rest of the cards that I had said I would post in the last post I made. Using designer series paper can make a card so simple to make. The very nice thing about Stampin' Up! is that almost every designer series paper pack we sell is double sided. If you go to a local craft store you will find you can't find double sided paper very easily. I have tried before myself.

Thank You Cards

Hello blogging friends. It has been a while since I have posted. I hopefully can make up for it by the amount of cards I am posting right now.

I was asked to make thank you cards for someone special. I was honored to even be asked. They could have asked someone else if they had wanted, but for some reason they chose me. Yeah!!

I am not going to go into details of how these were made. I was asked to keep them simple. I have tried to do that. The way I started off was to pick out designer series paper I liked and then the cardstock that matched it. I cut the card base and then the designer series paper however I wanted it to fit onto the card base. I did this for all of the cards before I even started gluing or adding embellishments. Once that was done, I went ahead and glued the designer series paper to the cardstock along with ribbon. After that I have added the embellishments. It has went very quickly. For me, that is saying something. I take a long time to make cards. Hmm......maybe I am finally getting faster at it.

I hope that you enjoy looking at them. I will be posting some more, maybe tomorrow. I have some more to finish up.

I used a lot of retired designer series paper to make these cards. Some of you may have some of it on hand too. Everything used is Stampin' Up! products.

Please tell me which is your favorite card. The cards look much better in person than on here. I may have to figure out another way of taking pictures. These will do for now though.

Pocket Card Class

I have been working for a few days on these cards for an upcoming class. I decided it would be neat to have a pocket card class. There is a bunch of sites that you can go to, to get the information you need to make these types of cards. I hope if you really like one of them you will find out how to make it. You could always email me too.

The first card you see is called a double pocket card. I have 3 different images for you to look at. There is still room to add a sentiment on the front or even on the inside of this card.

This is what it looks like with the inserts in place on the inside. You could use these as bookmarks or just add whatever personal message you want.

This image I pulled up one of the inserts for you to see. Like I said, these are fun to make. I really like this card. You could even attach a gift card if you wanted to. The possibilities are endless.
I used retired SU! DSP delicate dots. Along with is I used certainly celery, so saffron, whisper white, and bashful blue cardstock. I used the extra large flower punch, priceless stamp set, pastel brads, the photo corners punch, and the sizzix simple flower embosslit.

Below is a pocket card. I was not happy with my color choice, but it has kind of grown on me. I am not an orange type of person, I guess. With the DSP I used I could have went with quite a few different color choices for the card base. I try to pay attention to what I have for ribbon colors though. That is what helps me determine which colors to go with.

Here is an image with the insert pulled out just a little bit for you to see. You could actually add stamped images on it if you want, but I did not.

I used pumpkin pie, chocolate chip, whisper white, and the sweet pea designer series paper stack for cardstock. I just bought the butterfly punch recently. I thought it would look good for an embellishment. I also used the scallop edge punch and the priceless stamp set. Lastly, I used tempting turquoise 1/4" grosgrain ribbon.

This card is called a criss cross card. I decided since it had a pocket it could be included in my class. It is really simple to make and works up fast. The first image shows you with the insert out and turned on end.
The image below is what it looks like when it is ready to go into an envelope. For colors I used rich razzleberry, old olive, whisper white, and cottage wall DSP.

This last card is called a crimped envelope pocket card. It turned out very pretty. I just wish you could tell in the picture. Once again, the camera didn't do the best.

Here is a picture of what it looks like with the top pulled off and the insert out of the pocket. I wanted to put a stamped image on it.

The main part of this card is an envelope. I used pale plum, almost amethyst, and whisper white cardstock. The stamp set is upsy daisy, which makes such beautiful cards. I did also use the frost white shimmer paint on the scalloped image. Shimmer paint is great. I love it.

Easter Cards

Wow! Time sure does fly by. It has been a while since I have posted something on here. I have been busy at work this week. Today I had a day off and decided I wanted to make a few cards. My mom needs some Easter cards. I designed these for her. I hope she likes them. I do not have a stamp set that has a cross, so I used what I could think of.

This card is easy to make. I used the perfect details texturz plate for the background. I made it stand out by adding so saffron ink with a stamping sponge. I love the richness it gives. I used my build a brads to make the center of the flower. For cardstock I used so saffron, almost amethyst, whisper white, pretty in pink, certainly celery, and tea party DSP. For tools I used the wide oval punch, the scallop oval punch, the 5-petal flower punch, the extra large flower punch, the 1/2 inch punch, and the scallop border trim punch.

This is my favorite of the 2 cards. I have a hard time just using anything for an Easter card. This one reminds me more of the true meaning. The first one is just more springy. I used the same colors for this card as I did for the one above it. I used the stamp set fifth avenue floral and well scripted. For tools I used the eyelet border punch, the beautiful wings embosslit, and the big shot. I also used 1/4" pretty in pink grosgrain ribbon.

This was a third card I came up with also. As you can see I used the same colors and paper. I just changed it up a bit. You can do it too.

Scallop Bag Treats

It is getting very close to Easter. Spring is in the air. Yes, I can not wait. I too am tired of the snow, even though I am sure it is not done yet. I decided I wanted to make something up for 2 of my best customers. They are coming over, in a while, for a class. These were very easy and fast to make up. Of course, I used pastel colored M & M's for the treat.

Supplies I used to make these up are as follows:
Stamp sets: well scripted and fifth avenue floral
Ink: certainly celery, barely banana, and summer sun (stampin write marker)
Cardstock: textured barely banana, certainly celery, and whisper white
Tools: big shot, scallop bag die (main piece), 5 petal flower punch, small cello bags, and frost white shimmer paint

I have to say that these are cuter to see in person than what the picture shows. I hope you believe that you can make something like this yourself. You can! Please tell me what you think.

Thoughts and Prayers Sympathy Card

Life has been busy in my house for the past few weeks. Below is a picture of my grandson. My daughter, son-in-law, and of course, grandson came to visit with us. During this time period, needless to say, I did not get much stamping done. In fact, I think I did get in 1 card during that time. It is the card that is in the post just below this one. I really enjoyed my daughter and her little family being here. It just stinks that they live so far away and we don't get to see them very much. So everyone, enjoy your family, especially if they live close.

I needed to make a card for somebody at church who just lost her dad, suddenly. I just pray that she will be encouraged to know that there are people praying for her and her family during this time. I decided not to use the close as a memory stamp set. I really thought the thoughts and prayers set would be nice to use, instead. I like the sprig with the flowers on it. I also really like all of the sayings in this set. I really wanted to use the praying for you saying on this card.

Inspiration in Action IA120

Are any of you like me and really struggle at times with colors to use? I sure do. In fact, it is probably the hardest thing for me. Once I do have my colors figured out coming up with the rest isn't quite so bad.

I don't know what it is, but I have been having a hard time working on cards and liking them when I am done lately. We have had a lot going on here at home. It has been good things though. My daughter, son-in-law, and grandson have been visiting us. It has been very nice getting to spend time with them. We are not sure when we will get to see them again once they do go back home. I try to spend as much time with them as I can. I am sure you can all relate with that.

Anyways, back to the card. I thought I would try one of the many challenges you can do. I got mine from here. I thought this was a cute design to work with. Below is my interpretation of her sketch. These are a lot of fun to do. If you ever have a hard time coming up with a sketch or even a color combo there are a ton of places you can get inspiration from. I hope you will try it sometime.

Forest Friend's Birthday

It is time for a birthday to be celebrated in my home. My husband will be 49 years old (or should I say young) tomorrow. I just love the stamp set "Forest Friends" in Stampin' Up!'s catalog. The bunny rabbit reminds me of Thumper from Bambi. Anyhow, this is the card that I came up with for my husband. He isn't hard to please. I am sure he will like it.

These are the items I used to make this card. All products are Stampin' Up! and current.

Cardstock: taken with teal, old olive, so saffron, whisper white, and sweet pea designer series paper stack
Classic Ink: chocolate chip, and so saffron
Stampin' Markers: chocolate chip and old olive
Stamp sets: forest friends and well scripted
Tools: 1 1/4" circle punch, 1/3/8" circle punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, round tab punch, and stamping sponge

Valentine Bookmarks

I finally was able to get something done to post. My daughter, son-in-law, and grandson are here visiting with us. I will be posting a few cards in the next few days also. My husband has a birthday and I need to make another card for someone (Heidi) who is doing something kind for me. Thanks, Heidi!!

These bookmarks are very fast and easy to make. I wanted to make something for my girls at church to give for Valentine's Day. I used Stampin' Up! retired designer series paper (candy lane) to make them. The cardstock colors are riding hood red and pink pirouette. I really liked those colors when they were "in". I used the tiny tags stamp set, the sizzix two tags die, and of course the big shot. The hearts are made with the full heart and heart to heart punches.

Seeing Stars

If you like stars this is a card for you. My daughter is celebrating her birthday today. HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY, NICOLE! She used to really like stars. I am not sure if they are her favorite anymore. I have not asked her about it either, but that is why I created this style of card for her.

I used Stampin' Ups! retired parisian breeze specialty paper, baja breeze (retired), chocolate chip, and kraft cardstock to make this. I really love this Designer Series Paper. I don't always like it when some things retire.

When looking at the card closed, I used 2 sending love epoxy brads in the chocolate chip set, which can be found in the occasions mini catalog, along with linen thread to hold it shut.

When the small flap is opened you can read the sentiment. It does open up one more time. I wrote what I wanted to say to my daughter in that area.

I do know she liked it. She told me yesterday. The other thing she told me was she had looked at my blog to see if she could find her card. I did not post it on here until I knew she had it. It is a good thing.

For tools I used the large and small star punches. The sentiment is from the Voila' stamp set. For ink I used the chocolate chip classic.

Fold Over Card

This is the last card of the 4 that I have come up with for my next class. There is still room to put a sentiment on it if any of them decide they would like to do that.

Materials used are all Stampin' Up! supplies.
Cardstock: pretty in pink, rose red, chocolate chip, and taken with teal
DSP: sweet pea paper stack (occasions mini catalog)
Tools: Big Shot, sizzlits buttons die, 1 3/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, and 1/16th hole punch
Accessories: 5/8" chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon and linen thread

Gate Fold Card

Hello!! I am finally posting card number 3 for you all to see. This is called a gate fold card. The most important thing for this card, in my opinion, is to know how you are going to keep it closed. This one is kept closed by the sentiment, which is raised with a dimensional, and the edge of the flower tucked behind it. I am sure there are a lot of other ways you can keep it closed.

The Stampin' Up! supplies used to make this card are listed below.
Stamp set: oval all
Cardstock: not quite navy, kraft, and very vanilla
DSP: Bella Bleu
Tools: big shot, flower layers, scallop oval punch, large oval punch, and the 1/16" hole punch
Accessories: earth elements brads, not quite navy

This is not my favorite card. I do know that my customers will be happy with it. The main reason why is they are color blue people. They are also usually pleased with about whatever I make, which is a nice compliment.

Tent Topper Card

This is going to be card number 2 for my upcoming class. This card turned out so pretty. I hate it when the pictures don't really show how beautiful something really is.

The name of this type of card is the Tent Topper Card. I loved how fun this one is to make. It is an easy card to do. This one could be made in the vertical and horizontal direction. I don't know about you, but versatility can be a very good thing.

Joy Fold Card

I am working on some different cards for an upcoming class. I want them to be different than the usual 5 1/2" by 4 1/4" card. Be watching over the next few days to see the cards I have come up with for this class.

To start, I made a Joy Fold Card. I have never made one of these before. They make up fast and are fun to do. You could add more to them or just leave them very basic and simple.

Small Gifts to Share Class

Sorry it has taken me a while to get a new post on here. I am going to have to really work on getting things done sooner. I can't believe how fast a week goes by.

Here are the samples I came up with for my next class that I am having at the end of this month. I used the new Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper to make these little gifts. I had been wanting Stampin' Up! to come up with glittery paper for a while. I am so happy that they did. For cardstock I used the coordinating colors that went with the DSP, which are real red, pretty in pink, chocolate chip, and very vanilla.

As you can see I used a test tube and added nerds, the sweet treat cup to make a 3 x 3 card, a junior legal pad cut in half and covered, and lastly a pack of tic tacs covered. My favorite is the 3 x 3 card and then the tic tacs.

Anniversary Card Class

Hello fellow bloggers. I finally have some new cards to share with you. I had two of them done the other day, but I waited to post all 4 of the cards together. These are what I came up with for my upcoming anniversary card class. One dilemma I had was, I only have one saying that says happy anniversary. I like having more choices, but sometimes you just don't. My other thing I seem to be getting stuck into is that I love the horizontal cards much better than the vertical. Because of this I tend to make them all the same direction. I don't think that is a good thing. I am going to have to make myself broaden my horizons and make them vertically also.

This is the first card I came up with. I used orchid opulence, cottage wall, old olive, and rich razzleberry cardstock for this one. The stamp set used was priceless. I usd the new scallop corner punch, scallop circle, 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle, heart to heart, and corner rounder punches, a stamping sponge, and a white gel pen. I used the organza ribbon also.

Since I didn't want to use the same happy anniversary stamp, I decided to use my defining alphabet stamp set to make the l, v, and e. The heart is from the love you much set. The cardstock is kraft, not quite navy, and bella bleu designer series paper. The tools used are the 1 1/4", 1 3/8" circle, and the scallop border punches. The ink used is not quite navy.

Once again I used something new out of the new occasions mini catalog. The vintage vogue stamp set along with the saying from the teeny tiny wishes set. It is a wonderful set to own. I have seen tons of beautiful cards made using this set. For the cardstock I used always artichoke, mellow moss, orchid opulence, and elegant eggplant. I hand cut out both of the flowers. I used a stamping sponge to add richness to the mellow moss cardstock and for the background color on the square. Ink used for this project was versamark, mellow moss, always artichoke, orchid opulence, and elegant eggplant. The 1/4" grosgrain ribbon is elegant eggplant and I added a brad from the vintage set.

For this last card I wanted to use the new XL two step bird punch. I thought it would make a cute anniversary card. When my husband seen this one he said, "This one looks springy." I have to agree with him on that. I used so saffron, almost amethyst, whisper white, and basic gray cardstock, and tea party designer series paper. For ink I used so saffron, basic gray, certainly celery, and pretty in pink. The tools I used was the XL 2 step bird punch, which is in the new occasions mini catalog, modern label, word window, and eyelet border punches. I used my Big Shot and the ovals die to make the two different sized ovals. Of course, I used the stamping sponge once again to add richness to the so saffron cardstock. I love how it looks on cards. For accessories I used 1/4" pretty in pink ribbon and a brad from the soft subtles pack.

Another 3 x 3 Card

To start off, I want to say that this card looks so much better in person. Sometimes a camera just does not do things any justice.

I had one more co-worker give me a gift for Christmas. I needed to make up another thank you card because I do not want to leave her out.

For this card I used all SU! products. The cardstock and designer series paper are retired. The punches I used are all still current products. The one punch I used is a sneak peak for some of you. The bird is made from one of our new punches that is coming out in the occasions mini catalog, which you can begin ordering from on January 5th. Some of you may have already received the catalog in the mail. There are a ton of new things in it. I am really pleased with this catalog. If you want to see one let me know.

Cardstock: pink pirouette, bordering blue, bella birds dsp
Ink: chocolate chip

Fast 3 x 3 Cards

I received some presents from some of my co-workers this week. I wanted to thank them for their gifts and kindness for thinking of me. I decided to make 3 x 3 thank you cards for them. We have lockers that we store our things in at work. A regular sized card (5 1/2 x 4 1/4) is too big for me to put into the slots. I decided the 3 x 3 size will work great. Now my only concern is if they will fit because of the ribbon and dimensionals. If not, I will just have to hand them out. No big deal!
Altogether I needed 4 cards. The first two shown below are made using the Upsy Daisy stamp set. I used 1/4 inch grosgrain ribbon to add dimension to each of them also. I am pleased with how they turned out. For the real red and basic black card, I also used the modern label punch and the word window punch.

I wanted to try the embossing folders on a couple of them to see how it looked. I really like the Manhattan Flower (rich razzleberry) card. The other card is made with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder. I really like the embosslit die with the butterflies. It will be available to purchase in January. I also used the large oval and scallop oval punches.
